Abstract
The key to easing the nurse shortage at your hospital: hang on to the nurses on your staff. To accomplish that, you need a work environment that gives nurses the support and tools they need to spend as much time as possible caring for patients. Seven organizations are doing just that with strategies that range from the ambitious to the mundane.
