Abstract
CIO/CNO partnership is critical to system implementation success. Focusing on mutual/organization-wide goals, such as clinical transformation and improved patient safety, can help provide a shared understanding of what will be needed for projects to work. A key position emerging in many organizations is that of vice president or director of clinical informatics, usually with a team reporting to him/her.
