Abstract

A reconstituted system composed of partially purified nuclear pellet and cytosol from rat quadriceps muscle was used in order to establish whether cytosol is necessary for nuclear uptake of testosterone. It was demonstrated that the presence of cytosol enhances remarkably the total nuclear uptake of this hormone.
