[Surgical treatment of epithelioma of the eyelid].
J Fr Ophtalmol. 1982; 5(8-9):493-7.JF

Abstract

Data reported in the published literature were confirmed by a study of 28 patients with epithelioma of the eyelid. The incidence of the disease is higher in men over 40 years of age, basal cell carcinoma being observed more frequently than the squamous cell type. Moroccan patients request treatment at a late stage, this explaining the wide extent of the lesions and the complexity of therapeutic problems. Conservative surgery should be performed whenever possible, and should consist of a total skin graft with or without a tarsoconjunctival flap, according to the technique described by Kollner.
