Cytologic diagnosis of a case of pulmonary cryptococcosis.Acta Cytol. 1982 Jul-Aug; 26(4):499-502.AC
Abstract
A case of pulmonary cryptococcosis initially diagnosed by cytologic examination of sputum is presented. The cytologic findings are reviewed, with a brief discussion of the clinical settings in which pulmonary cryptococcosis occurs. The role of the cytologist in the early detection of this important and often clinically occult pulmonary mycotic disease is emphasized.
