Otitis externa and otitis media. A new look at old problems.

Abstract

Acute otitis media represents one of the most common presenting complaints seen among children in emergency departments. The pathophysiologic process and the infectious organisms are reviewed. Antibiotic choices are discussed, including a review of newer agents. An overview of otitis externa is provided also.
