Abstract

During the period from February to March, 1992, an outbreak of upper respiratory infection (influenza-like syndrome) took place in a hotel in Beijing. An epidemiological investigation and bacteriological examination were carried out in this hotel. The results showed that it was an outbreak of Legionnaires' disease caused by Legionella pneumophila serogroup 10 (Lp10): The incidence was 13.51% (5/37). This is the first report on LP10 infection in China.
