[Acute and chronic infection of mice, caused by lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus isolated from Mus musculus in Moscow].Vopr Virusol. 1976 Mar-AprVV
Infection of mice with strain No. 325 of lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCM) isolated in Moscow was of two types depending on the age of the animals at the time of inoculation. Infection in adult mice terminated either in death or recovery with development of immunity. Inoculation of suckling mice resulted in formation of chronic virus carrier state in most survivors. The indirect hemagglutination inhibition test was found to be very sensitive for detection of antibody in convalescent animals as well as in mice with chronic LCM infection.
