  • ICl/AgNO3 Co-Catalyzed Radical Oxidation of Diaryl- and Alkylarylalkynes into 1,2-Diketones. [Journal Article]
    J Org Chem 2019Yang W, Chen Y, … Yang D
  • A novel ICl/AgNO3 co-catalyzed radical oxidation of diaryl- and alkylarylalkynes into 1,2-diketones is reported. The reaction proceeded smoothly under mild conditions and generated 1,2-diketones in moderate to good yields with a good tolerance of functional groups. Furthermore, the obtained C4-(1,2-diketoaryl)isoxazoles could react smoothly with 1,2-diaminobenzene to form C4-(3-arylquinoxalin-2-y…
  • Silver nanoparticle-induced nephrotoxicity in Clarias gariepinus: physio-histological biomarkers. [Journal Article]
Fish Physiol Biochem 2019Mahmoud UM, Mekkawy IAA, … Sayed AEH
  • The present study investigates the nephrotoxic effects of two acute doses of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) and silver nitrate (AgNO3) on the African catfish, Clarias gariepinus, using biochemical, histochemical, and histopathological changes as biomarkers. AgNP-induced impacts were recorded in some of these characteristics on the bases of their size (20 and 40 nm) and concentration (10 and 100 μg/…
  • Antimicrobial Activity of Biosynthesized Silver Nanoparticles Decorated Silica Nanoparticles. [Journal Article]
Indian J Microbiol 2019; 59(3):379-382Otari SV, Patel SKS, … Lee JK
  • The production of cheap and effective compound for medicinal application is a major challenge for scientific community. So, several biological materials have been explored for the possible application in material synthesis which are useful in biomedical uses. Here, biomolecules from green tea leaves were functionalized on the surface of silicon dioxide nanoparticles (GSiO2 NPs). Next, the decorat…
  • Intracellular Dissolution of Silver Nanoparticles: Evidence from Double Stable Isotope Tracing. [Journal Article]
Environ Sci Technol 2019Yu SJ, Lai YJ, … Liu JF
  • To track transformations of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) in vivo, HepG2 and A549 cells were cocultured with two enriched stable Ag isotopes (107AgNPs and 109AgNO3) at nontoxic doses. After enzymatic digestion, 107AgNPs, ionic 107Ag+ and 109Ag+ in exposed cells could be separated and quantified by liquid chromatography combined with ICP-MS. We found that ratios of 107Ag+ to total 107Ag and proport…
  • The increasing threat of silver-resistance in clinical isolates from wounds and burns. [Journal Article]
Infect Drug Resist 2019; 12:1985-2001Hosny AEM, Rasmy SA, … El-Bazza ZE
  • CONCLUSIONS: Plasmid-mediated silver-resistance was detected for the first time, in clinical P. aeruginosa, A. baumannii and S. aureus isolates; in addition to its detection in K. pneumoniae, E. coli and Enterobacter cloacae. Therefore, strict monitoring on the use of silver compounds in medical settings is required; with implementation of an approved standardized method for silver-resistance detection.
  • Facile synthesis of Ag-CuO/SBA-15 for aerobic epoxidation of olefins with high activity. [Journal Article]
    Nanotechnology 2019; 30(43):434002Li A, Tang Y, … Wang G
  • An efficient 'structure-property' catalyst Ag-CuO/SBA-15 for aerobic epoxidation of olefins was designed and prepared via a simple grinding method, which provided a dynamic assembly driving force to push the precursors into the channels step by step. Partial melting on the precursor particles surface is necessary for synthesizing the Ag-CuO/SBA-15 catalysts. During the thermal grinding process, t…
