  • Sorption and desorption of radiocesium by muscovite separated from the Georgia kaolin. [Journal Article]
J Environ Radioact 2019; 211:106074Kwong-Moses DS, Elliott WC, … Avant DM
  • Radiocesium (137Cs) sorption by moderately weathered, sand-sized muscovite, obtained as a byproduct of kaolin ore processing, was observed at various concentrations of added stable Cs (0-100 μmol/L) over a 130 d period. After 18 h of batch sorption with 1 mmol/L NaCl as background electrolyte, conditional 137Cs Kd values were near 2000 L/kg across the entire range of added stable Cs. Over four su…
  • Enhanced removal of ethidium bromide (EtBr) from aqueous solution using rectorite. [Journal Article]
    J Hazard Mater 2019; 384:121254Li Z, Chang PH, … Liu Y
  • Ethidium bromide (EtBr) is an intercalating agent commonly used as nucleic acid fluorescent tag in various techniques of life science field. It is considered as a serious biohazard due to its mutagenicity and carcinogenicity. As such, developing high efficiency and low cost materials as cleanup kits is in urgent need although many methods have already been developed. In this study we take use of …
  • Assessment of Coagulation by Thromboelastography During Ongoing Postpartum Hemorrhage: A Retrospective Cohort Analysis. [Journal Article]
    Anesth Analg 2019Rigouzzo A, Louvet N, … Constant I
  • CONCLUSIONS: During PPH, when coagulation assessment is indicated, TEG provides a rapid and reliable detection of hypofibrinogenemia ≤2 g/L and/or thrombocytopenia ≤80,000/mm. No difference in performance was evidenced between the velocity-derived parameters (K-MRTGG and FF-MRTGG) and the classical parameters (K-MA and FF-MA). However, velocity-derived parameters offer the advantage of a shorter time to obtain results: FF-MRTGG parameter is available within ≤5 minutes. POC assessment of hemostasis during PPH management may help physicians to diagnose clotting disorders and to provide appropriate hemostatic support.
