  • [Pelvic anatomy and functional outcomes after rectal cancer resection]. [Multicenter Study]
Khirurgiia (Mosk). 2026; (9):19-28.Lukyanov AM, Garmanova TN, … Kubyshkin VAK
  • CONCLUSIONS: Small pelvis anatomy affects functional results after laparoscopic rectal resection, whereas there are no clear effects in case of robot-assisted surgery. Robotic platform is associated with more favorable restoration of pelvic organ functions and quality of life.
  • Suspected recurrent sarcoma resembling feline injection-site sarcoma with spinal cord invasion in a cat. [Case Reports]
    JFMS Open Rep. 2026 Jul-Dec; 12(2):20551169261476927.Pope EA, Cox A, … Selmic LEJO
  • A 6-year-old, neutered male domestic shorthair cat was referred for evaluation of a recurrent subcutaneous mass on the right caudodorsolateral hip, 4 months after excision of a presumed feline injection site sarcoma (FISS). Advanced imaging revealed a bilobed soft tissue mass closely associated with the sciatic nerve and rectum. Surgical excision was limited by adjacent structures, and histopatho…
  • Evaluation of feasibility DVH-guided re-optimization for RapidPlan-generated prostate VMAT plans. [Journal Article]
Med Dosim. 2026 Sep 10. [Online ahead of print]Hijiyama S, Sasaki M, … Ikushima HMD
  • Feasibility dose-volume histogram (FDVH) can provide patient-specific information on the anatomically achievable dose range for organs at risk (OARs) and may complement knowledge-based planning using RapidPlan. This study evaluated whether FDVH-guided re-optimization can improve RapidPlan-generated prostate volumetric-modulated arc therapy (VMAT) plans. A total of 50 patients with prostate cancer…
  • Adaptive workflow with EQD2 conversion for side effect prediction in prostate re-irradiation. [Journal Article]
    Phys Med. 2026 Sep 10; 150:107180. [Online ahead of print]Fauci F, Reggiori G, … Scorsetti MPM
  • CONCLUSIONS: The adaptive EQD2 workflow provided more favorable prediction of bladder side-effect compared with plan-sum methods, while rectal prediction remained unreliable. Despite being time-intensive, this approach better reflects delivered dose distributions and may improve clinical decision-making in prostate re-irradiation.
  • Rectal tonsil mimicking a rectal neuroendocrine tumor. [Journal Article]
Rev Esp Enferm Dig. 2026 Sep 09. [Online ahead of print]Wang W, Yang Y, Yang XRE
  • Rectal tonsil is an uncommon reactive lymphoid proliferation that may mimic a rectal neuroendocrine tumor endoscopically and a low-grade lymphoid neoplasm histologically. A 43-year-old woman underwent colonoscopy for abdominal pain, which revealed a smooth, hemispheric subepithelial lesion measuring approximately 22 mm in the lower rectum, 8 cm from the anal verge. Endoscopic ultrasonography demo…
  • Bibliometric and Knowledge-Mapping Analysis of Sacrococcygeal Pilonidal Disease Research (2000-2025). [Journal Article]
    J Vis Exp. 2026 Sep 08; (235).Chen L, Zhou W, … Lu YJV
  • Sacrococcygeal pilonidal disease (SPD) is an acquired inflammatory condition predominantly affecting young adults and adolescents, with a rising incidence and substantial clinical burden. Despite increasing research activity, the global scientific landscape of SPD, including research output, co-authorship patterns, knowledge diffusion pathways, thematic evolution, and emerging research frontiers,…
  • A New Endoscopic Device to Facilitate APC Treatment: First Multicenter Clinical Experience. [Journal Article]
    Endosc Int Open. 2026; 14:a29341208.Mueller J, Kuellmer A, … Walter BEI
  • Background and Study Aims Argon plasma coagulation (APC) is an established ablation technique, but limited by tangential probe orientation. ArgoCap was developed to allow precise, safe, and reproducible APC through visualizing the argon beam, shielding the probe, maintaining a defined distance, and enabling hybrid APC procedures. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical feasibility and safety of…
