  • Inflammasomes in the pathophysiology of autoinflammatory syndromes. [Review]
    J Leukoc Biol 2019Tartey S, Kanneganti TD
  • Inflammasomes are a specialized group of intracellular sensors that are key components of the host innate immune system. Autoinflammatory diseases are disorders of the innate immune system that are characterized by recurrent inflammation and serious complications. Dysregulation of the inflammasome is associated with the onset and progression of several autoinflammatory and autoimmune diseases, in…
  • MiRNA Regulation of MIF in SLE and Attenuation of Murine Lupus Nephritis With miR-654. [Journal Article]
    Front Immunol 2019; 10:2229Tu Y, Guo R, … Lu L
  • CONCLUSIONS: MiR-654 negatively correlated with MIF and disease activity in patients with SLE. MiR-654 inhibits MIF expression via binding to MIF 3'UTR, selectively suppresses the phosphorylation of ERK and AKT, and reduces downstream inflammatory cytokine production. In vivo miR-654 treatment decreases MIF and downstream cytokine production and ameliorates murine lupus nephritis.
