- Thoracic Duct-to-Azygous Vein Lymphovenous Anastomosis for Lymphatic Decompression: Initial Experience and Early Outcomes. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: A TDA-LVA can restore lymphatic fluid drainage into the systemic venous circulation and remain patent for >2 months in carefully selected patients with thoracic duct obstruction. Further investigations are needed to determine the long-term durability and potential impact on overall quality of life and survival in children with complex lymphatic disorders.

- Indocyanine Green Fluorescence Lymphography for Lymphatic-Sparing Laparoscopic Palomo Varicocelectomy in Children: 5-Year Experience and Technical Considerations. [Journal Article]J Laparoendosc Adv Surg Tech A. 2026 Jul; 36(7):524-528.JL
- CONCLUSIONS: Our 5-year experience showed that the intratesticular injection of ICG and use of fluorescence vision allowed identification of lymphatic. ICG fluorescence lymphography is a safe and effective option to perform lymphatic-sparing laparoscopic Palomo varicocelectomy in children and adolescents with high-degree varicocele. No allergy to ICG or postoperative hydrocele was reported in our experience. It is preferable to inject 1 mL of ICG solution in the testis to avoid the risk of having small calcification in the testis at US controls.

- Imaging of complex lymphatic anomalies in children. [Review]
- The technique of intranodal contrast injection to visualize the lymphatic vessels, along with the use of dynamic contrast-enhanced MR lymphangiography, has led to important insights into the phenotype of patients with complex lymphatic anomalies. The pediatric patient with a complex lymphatic anomaly benefits from an integration of therapy across modalities, including supportive strategies (diet)…

- Use of indocyanine green [ICG] for the identification of the thoracic duct in minimally invasive esophageal oncologic surgery. [Journal Article]Rev Esp Enferm Dig. 2026 Apr 23. [Online ahead of print]RE
- Chylothorax is a severe complication of esophagectomy, frequently caused by inadvertent injury due to the high anatomical variability of the thoracic duct. Fluorescence with Indocyanine Green (ICG) facilitates its identification, but standard subcutaneous injection protocols involve long latency periods that complicate surgical logistics. This study evaluates the efficacy of an optimized intranod…

- [Advances in assessment methods of lymphatic drainage function]. [Review]Sheng Li Xue Bao. 2026 Apr 25; 78(2):342-352.SL
- The assessment of lymphatic drainage function is essential for understanding the role of the lymphatic system in fluid homeostasis, immunosurveillance and disease processes. Conventional methods of evaluation rely on dynamic visualization with tracers, such as X-ray lymphangiography, lymphoscintigraphy and magnetic resonance lymphangiography. However, these methods have limitations in terms of in…

- Lymph-interpositional flap transfer promotes lymphatic flow restoration: A rabbit hindlimb model supports the lymph axiality concept. [Journal Article]J Plast Reconstr Aesthet Surg. 2026 Jun; 117:55-62.JP
- CONCLUSIONS: The LIFT procedure was associated with enhanced indicators of lymphatic restoration. Although preliminary, this first experimental evaluation of LIFT offers proof-of-concept evidence supporting lymphatic interposition as a key element of the lymph axiality concept.

- Superficial and Functional Imaging of the Posterior Upper Arm Pathway in the Healthy Population. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: The PUA pathway was universally present in healthy volunteers. However, in comparison to our prior study, which was performed in patients with breast cancer prior to ALND, healthy volunteer arms more often displayed the short bundle phenotype. Defining the incidence of PUA pathway anatomic variants in healthy subjects is important to further understand its potential role in the development of lymphedema.

- Combined minimally invasive lymphatic microsurgery and aligned nanofibrillar collagen scaffold for refractory post-traumatic eyelid lymphedema: A case report. [Case Reports]
- Lymphedema arises from impaired lymphatic drainage, leading to accumulation of protein-rich fluid in the interstitium and progressive soft-tissue fibrosis. Although eyelid lymphedema is rare, it can cause marked functional and aesthetic morbidity, while often proves refractory to conservative measures. We report a case of secondary facial and eyelid lymphedema following closed head trauma, succes…

- Correlation between the drainage time in dynamic indocyanine green lymphography (ICG) and axillary lymph nodes metastatic involvement in breast cancer patients-a prospective study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Dynamic ICG lymphography drainage time correlates with pathological axillary nodal metastatic burden in breast cancer patients, particularly differentiating between low and high nodal involvement. This non-invasive functional assessment holds promise as a valuable adjunct for precise axillary management, guiding surgical de-escalation strategies, and potentially identifying patients at higher risk for lymphedema.

- Lymphatic Imaging Techniques: Evaluation of the Central Lymphatic System. [Review]
- The central lymphatic system plays a pivotal role in fluid homeostasis, immune regulation and macromolecular transport. In children, lymphatic flow disorders are increasingly recognized as contributors to a wide spectrum of clinical conditions, particularly in those with congenital heart disease or postsurgical single ventricle physiology. Conditions such as chylothorax, plastic bronchitis, prote…

- Idiopathic mediastinal chyloma in a cat: a case report of a novel manifestation of chyle leakage. [Case Reports]
- BACKGROUND: Chyloma is a rare pseudocystic collection of chyle resulting from leakage of the thoracic duct or its branches. While sporadically reported in humans, it has not been previously described in veterinary medicine. This report describes the first case of an idiopathic mediastinal chyloma in a cat. CASE PRESENTATION: A three-year-old, castrated male, domestic shorthair cat presented with …

- CONCLUSIONS: LVA efficacy was significantly associated with both ISL stage and ICG pattern. The patients with splash pattern or at stage Ⅱ and below could achieve > 55% volume reduction and should be considered the primary indications for LVA. The patients with diffuse pattern or at stage Ⅲ disease might require adjunctive liposuction or vascularized lymph node transfer to improve outcomes. Preoperative evaluation combining ISL staging and ICG lymphography can provide a reliable basis for the selection of LVA surgical indications and the formulation of treatment plans.

- Successful Treatment of Idiopathic Chyluria by Direct Percutaneous Puncture and Embolization of the Fistula Site: A Case Report. [Case Reports]Interv Radiol (Higashimatsuyama). 2026; 11:e20250066.IR
- We report a case of idiopathic chyluria in a woman in her 70s, successfully treated by direct percutaneous puncture and embolization of the fistula site. The patient had experienced persistent milky-white urine, progressive weight loss, and voiding difficulties for >3 years. Inguinal intranodal lymphangiography identified a lymphatic-urinary fistula near the lower pole of the left renal calyx. La…
