  • Ferumoxytol-Enhanced MR Lymphography for Detection of Metastatic Lymph Nodes in Genitourinary Malignancies: A Prospective Study. [Journal Article]
    AJR Am J Roentgenol 2019; :1-9Turkbey B, Czarniecki M, … Choyke PL
  • CONCLUSIONS: Ferumoxytol-enhanced MRL shows high sensitivity in the detection of metastatic LNs in genitourinary cancers independent of LN size. The SI difference between benign and malignant LNs on ferumoxytol-enhanced MRL appears similar 24 and 48 hours after ferumoxytol injection, suggesting that imaging can be performed safely within 1 or 2 days of injection. Although ferumoxytol-enhanced MRL can be useful in settings without an available targeted PET agent, issues of iron overload and repeatability of ferumoxytol-enhanced MRL remain concerns for this method.
  • Phenotypic and genetic analysis of milk and serum element concentrations in dairy cows. [Journal Article]
J Dairy Sci 2019Denholm SJ, Sneddon AA, … Wall E
  • Enhancing micronutrient (i.e., mineral and vitamin) concentrations within milk and serum from dairy cows is important for both the health of the cow and the nutritive value of the milk for human consumption. However, a good understanding of the genetics underlying the micronutrient content in dairy cattle is needed to facilitate such enhancements through feeding or breeding practices. In this stu…
  • Patient specific characterization of artery and plaque material properties in peripheral artery disease. [Journal Article]
    J Mech Behav Biomed Mater 2019; 101:103453Noble C, Carlson KD, … Young M
  • Patient-specific finite element (FE) modeling of atherosclerotic plaque is challenging, as there is limited information available clinically to characterize plaque components. This study proposes that for the limited data available in vivo, material properties of plaque and artery can be identified using inverse FE analysis and either a simple neo-Hookean constitutive model or assuming linear ela…
  • Evolution of tyrosinemia type 1 disease in patients treated with nitisinone in Spain. [Multicenter Study]
    Medicine (Baltimore) 2019; 98(39):e17303Couce ML, Sánchez-Pintos P, … Díaz-Fernández C
  • Treatment with nitisinone (NTBC) has brought about a drastic improvement in the treatment and prognosis of hereditary tyrosinemia type I (HT1). We conducted a retrospective observational multicentric study in Spanish HT1 patients treated with NTBC to assess clinical and biochemical long-term evolution. We evaluated 52 patients, 7 adults and 45 children, treated with NTBC considering: age at diagno…
