  • Outcome after hydrogen sulphide intoxication. [Review]
Resuscitation 2016; 103:1-6Mooyaart EAQ, Gelderman ELG, … van den Bergh WM
  • CONCLUSIONS: Manure related hydrogen sulphide intoxication is associated with a high mortality, although in some cases, recovery appears to be far more favourable than the initial presentation would suggest. Possibly protection from hypoxic injury due to induction of a suspended animation-like state by hydrogen sulphide may be responsible.
  • Accuracy of the Adverse Outcome Index: An Obstetrical Quality Measure. [Journal Article]
Jt Comm J Qual Patient Saf 2015; 41(8):370-7Foglia LM, Nielsen PE, … Deering S
  • CONCLUSIONS: The AOI is highly reliant on accurate coding and provider documentation and requires validation with manual chart review. Concurrent chart review improves the accuracy of the AOI. Caution is advised when using the AOI as an exclusive measure of assessing obstetric quality because it may be heavily influenced by a single outcome measure; perineal laceration rates represented twice the frequency of all other outcomes combined. The AOI should be modified to better measure preventable adverse events and include a means of accounting for preexisting conditions.

A linear multiple regression analysis (R 2 = .15; F(8, 1269) = 14.65; p < .001; effect …
  • Dose measurement of cobalt-60 radiotherapy beams in treatment fields. [Journal Article]
J Ayub Med Coll Abbottabad 2014 Jul-Sep; 26(3):279-82Memon SA, Cheema AA, … Mangi FH
  • CONCLUSIONS: The doses within 60% central area of fields in air were higher than phantom for both teletherapy units. The doses at field edges in air were lower in GWXJ80 than Theratron 780 whereas in phantom they were vice versa. But all were in the acceptable range as recommended by International Commission on Radiation Units and Measurements.
