    Children (Basel). 2026 May 18; 13(5).Türe Avcı B, Çetinarslan T, … Fölster-Holst RC
  • Background: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic, relapsing inflammatory dermatosis that is characterized by pruritus, xerosis, and age-dependent clinical heterogeneity. Accurately diagnosing AD remains challenging due to the absence of specific biomarkers and the broad spectrum of conditions that may mimic its presentation. A wide range of inflammatory, infectious, and genetic disorders resemble …

  • [Autoimmunity in Patients with CTLA-4 Haploinsufficiency]. [Case Reports]
Rev Alerg Mex. 2025 Sep 30; 72(3):89.Saad Manzanera MI, García Acevedo IG, … López Herrera GRA
  • CONCLUSIONS: The diagnosis of this pathology is difficult due to its wide clinical presentation. Impaired LT and LB function leads to severe autoimmune processes and progressive hypogammaglobulinemia, recurrent infections, and malignancies. Immunoglobulin, prophylactic antibiotics, immunosuppressants, and bone marrow transplantation are the mainstays of treatment. Recognizing this genetic defect allows for targeted treatment (abatacept) that will improve the quality of life and prognosis of patients.

For all …
  • Nummular Eczema as the Initial Extrahepatic Manifestation of Hepatitis C Virus Infection: A Case Report. [Case Reports]
Cureus. 2025 Aug; 17(8):e89379.Valdez Ramírez CE, Vera de León L, Torres Salazar QLC
  • Although dermatological manifestations are common in hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, nummular eczema is rarely reported in this context. We describe the case of a 73-year-old man with a seven-month history of pruritic lesions on the posterior thorax, unresponsive to symptomatic treatment. Physical and dermoscopic examination revealed well-demarcated, coin-shaped plaques with peripheral erythem…

While human papillomavirus (HPV) skin infection (warts) is the dermatological hallmark of the disease, individuals with WHIM have high rates of other skin manifestations that may aid early diagnosis and management.
