  • An improved production-theoretical approach to decomposing carbon dioxide emissions. [Journal Article]
    J Environ Manage 2019; 252:109577Wang Q, Wang Y, … Zhou P
  • Production-theoretical decomposition analysis (PDA), built on production theory and data envelopment analysis, has been widely used to quantify the factors that drive CO2 emission changes to support policy analysis and making. Existing PDA methods are usually linked to Shephard distance function and Malmquist productivity index. However, decomposition results associated with these methods may be …
  • Pulmonary artery perforation caused by a left atrial appendage closure device. [Case Reports]
    Catheter Cardiovasc Interv 2019Lu C, Zeng J, … Zeng Z
  • We describe a female patient who received hybrid catheter intervention and occlusion of the patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) and left atrial appendage (LAA). Four hours after the procedure, pericardial tamponade suddenly occurred. Surgical exploration of the heart found that a fixation hook of the WATCHMAN device, had protruded through the LAA wall and tore the dilated pulmonary artery (PA). This i…
  • Ductal size indexed to weight and body surface area correlates with morbidities in preterm infants ≤32 weeks. [Journal Article]
    J Matern Fetal Neonatal Med 2019; :1-7D'Amato G, Errico G, … Del Vecchio A
  • CONCLUSIONS: Our results confirmed that HsPDA can develop in presence of a ductus >1.5 mm as absolute value or >1.4 mm/kg as indexed to body weight. In ELBW infants the ductal size indexed for body weight and body surface area could be more predictive of spontaneous closure or need for pharmacological treatment compared to the absolute value of ductal size. A strong association between HsPDA and short- or long-term morbidities was confirmed particularly in ELBW.
