  • [Actinic keratoses : Current guideline and practical recommendations]. [Journal Article]
    Hautarzt. 2020 May 29 [Online ahead of print]Nashan D, Hüning S, … Berking C
  • The S3 guideline "Actinic keratosis and squamous cell carcinoma of the skin" was published on 30 June 2019. Subsequently, publications, reviews and meta-analyses appeared with new questions regarding the comparability of study data and heterogeneity of the evaluations, which are caused, among other things, by divergent measurement parameters as well as insufficient consideration of pretreatments …
  • X-ray nano-tomography of complete scales from the ultra-white beetles Lepidiota stigma and Cyphochilus. [Journal Article]
Sci Data. 2020 May 29; 7(1):163.Burg SL, Washington AL, … Fairclough JPA
  • High resolution X-ray nano-tomography experiments are often limited to a few tens of micrometer size volumes due to detector size. It is possible, through the use of multiple overlapping tomography scans, to produce a large area scan which can encompass a sample in its entirety. Mounting and positioning regions to be scanned is highly challenging and normally requires focused ion beam approaches.…
  • [Immuno-oncological therapeutic options in high-risk non-muscle invasive bladder cancer]. [Review]
    Urologe A. 2020 May 28 [Online ahead of print]Kramer MW, Gakis G
  • High-risk nonmuscle invasive bladder cancer (HR NMIBC) is an immunological malignancy. The standard therapy for HR NMIBC is based on transurethral bladder tumor resection with adjuvant Bacillus Calmette Guérin (BCG) instillation therapy. To prevent progression in case of BCG-refractory disease, early radical cystectomy is considered the therapy of choice according to the German S3 guidelines. Wit…
  • Anatomical description of the origin and distribution of the lumbosacral plexus in one puma (Puma concolor). [Journal Article]
Anat Histol Embryol. 2020 May 26 [Online ahead of print]Londoño-Osorio A, Ceballos CP, Tamayo-Arango LJ
  • Wild felids often suffer spinal and limb disorders; however, their nervous system anatomy is poorly studied. Herein, the lumbosacral plexus (Plexus lumbosacralis) of an adult puma and the motor and sensitive innervation of the pelvic limb is described. We found anatomical similarities to other felids, but also some differences. Branches L4-S3 form the lumbosacral plexus (Plexus lumbosacralis) in …
  • Efficient and Tunable White-Light Emission Using a Dispersible Porous Polymer. [Journal Article]
Macromol Rapid Commun. 2020 May 25 [Online ahead of print]James AM, Dawson R
  • A dispersible porous polymer (PEG113 -b-DVB800 -co-AA200 ) based on the controlled radical polymerization of divinylbenzene and acrylic acid with a poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) macrochain transfer agent (macro-CTA) is synthesized and postsynthetically modified with anthracene. This blue-emitting porous polymer is used to encapsulate the yellow-emitting fluorophore rhodamine B into its core, result…
  • Apoptosis triggers the release of microRNA miR-294 in spent culture media of blastocysts. [Journal Article]
    J Assist Reprod Genet. 2020 May 21 [Online ahead of print]Makri D, Efstathiou P, … Maalouf WE
  • CONCLUSIONS: MicroRNAs are important regulators of preimplantation development. Apoptosis triggers the release of miR-294 by blastocysts which possibly serves a secretory role for embryo-maternal communication. SCM miRNA analysis is possible for individually cultured embryos and future studies can investigate miRNAs as noninvasive markers of embryo quality.
