- Serenoa Repens-Lycopene-Selenium and Epilobium-Palmitoylethanolamide-Calendula after transperineal prostate biopsy: a tertiary single center experience. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Patients with mild pre-biopsy LUTS treated with post-biopsy phytotherapeutic combination showed reduced odds of short-term IPSS increase at 1-week after biopsy compared to untreated patients. These results are hypothesis-generating and prospective randomized trials are needed to confirm these findings.

- Effects of dietary supplements on androgenetic alopecia: a systematic review and network meta-analysis. [Systematic Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: Dietary supplements have a positive impact on hair density, terminal hair density, and blind doctor evaluations in patients with androgenetic alopecia, with good tolerability. They may serve as beneficial adjuncts or alternatives to conventional treatments. Future large-scale, high-quality RCTs are needed to verify these findings.

- A proprietary lipidosterolic extract of Serenoa repens promotes hair growth through mechanisms that extend beyond 5-alpha reductase inhibition: Insights from human hair follicle organ culture. [Journal Article]
- While androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is primarily driven by excessive 5-α reductase (5-αR) activity, further mechanisms also contribute to the development of AGA and other hair loss disorders. Here, we explored the properties of the proprietary lipidosterolic extracts of the plant Serenoa repens (LSESr), also known as Saw Palmetto, focusing on USPlus® DERM Bioactive Fatty Acids (USPlus® DERM). - Comparison of Serenoa repens, lycopene, and selenium versus dutasteride for the treatment of LUTS/BPH: an Italian multicenter case-control prospective study (COMP study). [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: SeR-Se-Ly could be a valid alternative to dutasteride, providing comparable effects on symptoms related to LUTS/BPH and avoiding sexual dysfunctions. SeR-Se-Ly should not be substituted for dutasteride in those patients for whom prostate volume reduction is desired.
