  • Experience of using time lapse microscopy in the IVF program in patients with good ovarian reserve. [Journal Article]
    Gynecol Endocrinol 2019; 35(sup1):15-17Natalia Vladimirovna S, Natalia Vladimirovna S, … Olga Victorovna I
  • The aim of this study is to evaluate the outcomes of single embryo transfer in patients with good ovarian reserve in the IVF program using time-lapse microscopy. This is a retrospective cohort study in a private IVF center in Russia. Comparison was done between 90 IVF cycles using time-lapse (study group) and 113 IVF cycles using standard culture (control group). Within each group, subgroups were…
  • Temperature of embryo culture for assisted reproduction. [Review]
Cochrane Database Syst Rev 2019; 9:CD012192Baak NA, Cantineau AE, … Brison DR
  • CONCLUSIONS: This review evaluated different temperatures for embryo culture during IVF. There is a lack of evidence for the majority of outcomes in this review. Based on very low-quality evidence, we are uncertain if incubating at a lower temperature than 37°C improves pregnancy outcomes. More RCTs are needed for comparing different temperatures of embryo culture which require reporting of clinical outcomes as live birth, miscarriage, clinical pregnancy and adverse events.
  • Long-Term Surgical Outcomes of Apple-Peel Atresia. [Journal Article]
    J Pediatr Surg 2019Zhu H, Gao R, … Shen C
  • CONCLUSIONS: Most of the patients with apple-peel atresia have excellent long-term outcomes, though initial postoperative complications are common. Low birth weight and the presence of associated anomalies are independent prognostic factors in APA.
  • Laparoscopic Peritoneal Dialysis Catheter Placement with Chest Wall Exit Site for Neonate with Stoma. [Review]
    Perit Dial Int 2019 Sep-Oct; 39(5):405-408Ta A, Saxena S, … Villalona GA
  • Neonates requiring peritoneal dialysis (PD) catheters have been shown to have complication rates up to 70%. The presence of a concurrent stoma significantly increases the risk of peritonitis, exit-site infection, and catheter failure. As such, multiple techniques have been proposed to reduce these risks, including a chest wall exit site. In this case, the patient was born with bilateral hypoplast…
  • The chance of a live birth after assisted reproduction in women with thyroid disorders. [Journal Article]
Clin Epidemiol 2019; 11:683-694Jølving LR, Larsen MD, … Nørgård BM
  • CONCLUSIONS: Women with hyperthyroidism receiving ART treatment had a decreased chance of a live birth per embryo transfer compared to women without thyroid disorders. Women with hypothyroidism did not have a decreased chance of a live birth but their offspring had an increased risk of congenital malformation.
