  • A rapid lateral flow immunoassay for identity testing of biotherapeutics. [Journal Article]
    J Immunol Methods 2019; :112666Machiesky L, Côté O, … Larkin C
  • Identity testing of biopharmaceutical products is conducted at multiple steps in the manufacturing process, for drug product lot release, and often for product importation. Because of the chemical and structural similarities of antibody-based products, they present a unique challenge for the development of a QC friendly identity assay where specificity is the critical attribute. Here we report on…
  • GREM1 overexpression inhibits proliferation, migration and angiogenesis of osteosarcoma. [Journal Article]
    Exp Cell Res 2019; :111619Gu Q, Luo Y, … Wang X
  • Osteosarcoma is the most common malignancy of bone that occurs in young adults and children, with a five-year survival rate of 60-70%. Metastasis of osteosarcoma maintains an even poorer prognosis. GREM1 plays an important role in regulating organogenesis, body patterning, and tissue differentiation. However, there are limited studies on GREM1 in osteosarcomas. This study was carried out to chara…
  • Pooling as a strategy for the timely diagnosis of soil-transmitted helminths in stool: value and reproducibility. [Journal Article]
    Parasit Vectors 2019; 12(1):443Papaiakovou M, Wright J, … Littlewood DTJ
  • CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggest that the pooling protocol developed herein is a robust and efficient strategy for the detection of STHs in 'pools-of-five'. There is notable complexity of the pool preparation to ensure even distribution of helminth DNA throughout. Therefore, at a given setting, cost of labour among other logistical and epidemiological factors, is the more concerning and determining factor when choosing pooling strategies, rather than losing sensitivity and/or specificity of the molecular assay or the method.
