  • Environmental behaviour of radioactive particles from chernobyl. [Journal Article]
    J Environ Radioact 2019; 208-209:106025Kashparov V, Salbu B, … Zabrotsky V
  • Long-term environmental behaviour of radioactive particles released during the Chernobyl accident and deposited in sandy topsoil in Ivankiv district of Kyiv Region (Ukraine), in radioactive trench waste materials from the Red forest, and in bottom sediments from the Cooling pond has been assessed. The efficiency of the models describing the dissolution/weathering rates of U fuel particles develop…
  • baerhunter: An R package for the discovery and analysis of expressed non-coding regions in bacterial RNA-seq data. [Journal Article]
    Bioinformatics 2019Ozuna A, Liberto D, … Nobeli I
  • CONCLUSIONS: Standard bioinformatics pipelines for the analysis of bacterial transcriptomic data commonly ignore non-coding but functional elements e.g. small RNAs, long antisense RNAs or untranslated regions (UTRs) of mRNA transcripts. The root of this problem is the use of incomplete genome annotation files. Here, we present baerhunter, a coverage-based method implemented in R, that automates the discovery of expressed non-coding RNAs and UTRs from RNA-seq reads mapped to a reference genome. The core algorithm is part of a pipeline that facilitates downstream analysis of both coding and non-coding features. The method is simple, easy to extend and customize and, in limited tests with simulated and real data, compares favourably against the currently most popular alternative.
  • AntiHIV-Pred: Web-resource for in silico prediction of anti-HIV/AIDS activity. [Journal Article]
    Bioinformatics 2019Stolbov L, Druzhilovskiy D, … Nicklaus M
  • Identification of new molecules promising for treatment of HIV-infection and HIV-associated disorders remains an important task in order to provide safer and more effective therapies. Utilization of prior knowledge by application of computer-aided drug discovery approaches reduces time & financial expenses and increases the chances of positive results in anti-HIV R&D. To provide the scientific co…
  • Development and evaluation of rapidly dissolving buccal films of naftopidil: in vitro and in vivo evaluation. [Journal Article]
Drug Dev Ind Pharm 2019; :1-32Elagamy HI, Essa EA, … El Maghraby GM
  • CONCLUSIONS: Formulation of naftopidil in the form of rapidly dissolving buccal film can eliminate the dissolution problem of naftopidil and provide greater chance for direct absorption into the systemic circulation bypassing the presystemic metabolism. This can improve the oral bioavailability. In addition, this film guarantees patient compliance and is suitable for geriatric patients. The study introduced rapidly dissolving buccal film for enhanced dissolution and bioavailability of naftopidil.
