  • Assessment of in vitro Effects of Anthocyanins on Platelet Function. [Journal Article]
Altern Ther Health Med 2019Gaiz A, Kundur AR, … Singh I
  • CONCLUSIONS: AC attenuates platelet function by suppressing P-selectin expression and influencing Thromboxane A2 pathway (AA stimulation). These results provide further evidence for the effect of AC and the possible mechanism by which AC reduces platelet aggregation and activation. This study supports future human intervention trials to show that AC may act as a complement to other antiplatelet agents in reducing the risk of thrombosis.
  • Atypical Presentation of Renal Leiomyosarcoma: A Case Report. [Case Reports]
    Cureus 2019; 11(8):e5433Darlington D, Anitha FS
  • Primary renal sarcomas are rare comprising from 0.8 to 2.7% of adult renal tumours. They cannot be distinguished clinically or radiologically from the more common renal cell carcinomas. Leiomyosarcoma is the most common histological subtype accounting for around 50-60% of renal sarcomas. Leiomyosarcomas arise from the renal capsule, renal vein or the renal pelvis. They present with nonspecific cl…
  • Pneumococcal VncR Strain-Specifically Regulates Capsule Polysaccharide Synthesis. [Journal Article]
    Front Microbiol 2019; 10:2279Ghosh P, Shah M, … Rhee DK
  • Capsular polysaccharides (CPS), a major virulence factor in Streptococcus pneumoniae, become thicker during blood invasion while not during asymptomatic nasopharyngeal colonization. However, the underlying mechanism controlling this differential pneumococcal CPS regulation remain unclear. Here, we show how VncR, the response regulator of the vancomycin resistance locus (vncRS operon), regulates C…
