MRI-treatment units enable 2D cine-MRI centred in the tumour for motion detection in radiotherapy, but they lack 3D information due to spatio-temporal limits. To derive time-resolved 3D information, different approaches have been proposed in the literature, but a rigorous comparison among these strategies has not yet been performed. The goal of this study is to quantitatively investigate five published strategies that derive time-resolved volumetric MRI in MRI-guided radiotherapy: Propagation, out-of-plane motion compensation, Fayad model, ROI-based model and Stemkens model. Comparisons were performed using an MRI digital phantom generated with six different patient-derived motion signals and tumour-shapes. An average 4D cycle was generated as well as 2D cine-MRI data with corresponding 3D in-room ground truth. Quantitative analysis was performed by comparing the estimated 3D volume to the ground truth available for each 2D cine-MRI sample. A grouped patient statistical analysis was performed to evaluate the performance of the selected methods, in case of tumour tracking or motion estimation of the whole anatomy. Analyses were also performed based on patient characteristics. Quantitative ranking of the investigated methods highlighted that Propagation and ROI-based model strategies achieved an overall median tumour centre of mass 3D distance from the ground truth of 1.1mm and 1.3mm respectively, and a diaphragm distance below 1.6mm. Higher errors and variabilities were instead obtained for other methods, which lack the ability to compensate for in-room variations and to account for regional changes. These results were especially evident when further analysing patient characteristics, where errors above 2mm/5mm in tumour/diaphragm were found for more irregular breathing patterns in case of out-of-plane motion compensation, Fayad and Stemkens models. These findings suggest the potential of the proposed in-silico framework to develop and compare strategies to estimate time-resolved 3DMRI in MRI-guided radiotherapy.

- CONCLUSIONS: The current findings indicate that compensatory changes in EI and EE behaviors did not occur at a group level within a small cohort of adolescent girls. However, analysis at the individual level highlights large interindividual variability in behaviors, which suggests a larger study may be prudent to extend this initial exploratory research.

- CONCLUSIONS: Our findings indicate several targets for increasing access to elective surgical care. Most patients in the emergent group experienced chronic symptoms, indicating an opportunity to prevent emergency surgical treatment. This study provides local population characterization for improvements in access to care, which could lead to decreases in emergency gallbladder surgery.

The present pilot study was aimed at conducting a comparative analysis of the level of activation in the prefrontal cortex among a normal elderly group and amnestic and nonamnestic mild cognitive impairment (MCI) groups and investigating the presence of neural compensatory mechanisms according to types of MCI and different cognitive tasks. We performed functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) along with cognitive tasks, including two-back test, Korean color word Stroop test, and semantic verbal fluency task (SVFT), to investigate hemodynamic response and the presence of neural compensation and neuroplasticity in the prefrontal cortex of patients with amnestic and nonamnestic MCI compared with a healthy elderly group. During the two-back test, there was no significant difference in the bilateral region-of-interest (ROI) analysis in the three groups. During the Stroop test, right-sided hyperactivation compared to the left side during the task was shown in the nonamnestic MCI and normal groups with statistical significance. Mean acc∆HbO2 on the right side was highest in the nonamnestic MCI group (0.30 μM) followed by the normal group (0.07 μM) and the amnestic MCI group (-0.10 μM). Otherwise, intergroup ROI analysis of acc∆HbO2 in these activated right sides showed no significant difference. During the VFT test, there was no significant difference in the bilateral region-of-interest analysis in the three groups. The highest mean acc∆HbO2 was shown in the normal group (0.79 μM) followed by the nonamnestic MCI group (0.52 μM) and the amnestic MCI group (0.21 μM). Otherwise, there was no significant difference between groups. The hemodynamic response during fNIRS showed different findings according to MCI types and cognitive tasks. Among the three tasks, the Stroop test showed results that were suggestive of neural compensatory mechanisms in the prefrontal cortex in nonamnestic MCI.

- CONCLUSIONS: Hospital medication order safety performance has improved over time but is far from perfect. The specifics of EHR medication safety implementation and improvement play a key role in realising the benefits of computerising prescribing, as organisations have substantial latitude in terms of what they implement. Intentional quality improvement efforts appear to be a critical part of high safety performance and may indicate the importance of a culture of safety.

The binding of the Drosophila male-specific lethal dosage compensation complex (DCC) exclusively to male X chromosome provides an excellent model system to understand mechanisms of selective recruitment of protein complexes to chromatin. Previous studies showed that the male-specific organizer of the complex, MSL2, and ubiquitous DNA-binding protein CLAMP are key players in the specificity of X chromosome binding. The CXC domain of MSL2 binds to genomic sites of DCC recruitment in vitro Another conserved domain of MSL2, named Clamp-binding domain (CBD) directly interacts with the N-terminal zinc finger domain of CLAMP. Here, we found that inactivation of CBD or CXC individually only modestly affected recruitment of the DCC to the X chromosome in males. However, combination of these two genetic lesions within the same MSL2 mutant resulted in an increased loss of DCC recruitment to the X chromosome. Thus, proper MSL2 positioning requires an interaction with either CLAMP or DNA to initiate dosage compensation in Drosophila males.

- CONCLUSIONS: In performing THA after LSF, it is theoretically ideal to proceed with THA at a postfusion interval of at least 1 year, beyond which further compensatory PT change is minimal. However, the order of surgical procedure revealed no statistical difference in hip instability rates. In cases characterized by large PI-LL mismatch (larger or less predictable compensation profiles) or large SS or LL loss (considerably atypical muscle recruitment), consideration of full functional anteversion range between sitting and standing positions to account for abnormalities not appreciated with standing radiographic assessment alone may be warranted.
