  • Sclera as the target tissue in progressive myopia. [Journal Article]
    Pomeranian J Life Sci 2015; 61(2):146-52Iomdina E, Tarutta E, … Bedretdinov A
  • CONCLUSIONS: School age children with progressive myopia showed biomechanical abnormalities of the corneosclera, along with CT dysplasia, decreased SC and imbalanced VNS, more pronounced in acquired complicated myopia. Our findings contribute to the understanding of myopia pathogenesis and to the diagnostic/prognostic evaluation of myopic children, in particular when deciding whether sclera-strengthening intervention is needed.
  • Extraocular lymphoma in the horse. [Journal Article]
Vet Ophthalmol 2013; 16(1):35-42Schnoke AT, Brooks DE, … Plummer CE
  • CONCLUSIONS: The prognosis for clinical remission in horses with extraocular lymphoma is generally fair to good, as long as the affected tissues are completely excised, and there is no eyelid or cutaneous involvement. Horses diagnosed with the nodular form of extraocular lymphoma seem to have the best prognosis with complete excision.
  • [Tissue adhesive combined with amniotic membrane adhering in the treatment of ocular burns]. [Journal Article]
    Yan Ke Xue Bao 2005; 21(2):74-8Tang X, Wang Z, Dong N
  • CONCLUSIONS: Cyanoacrylate tissue adhesive combined with amniotic membrane adhering can rapidly restore both corneal and conjunctival surfaces, thus preventing effectively scarring sequelae in the late stage. In most severe burns, however, it arrests the corneosclera melting and restores the conjunctival surface and blood supply of the anterior segment, but does not restore the integrity of the corneal surface, which requires further limbal stem cell transplantation.
  • Scanning electron microscope study of the rabbit anterior chamber angle. [Journal Article]
    Med Mol Morphol 2005; 38(1):54-62Nishida S, Uchida H, … Iwaki M
  • The three-dimensional fine structure and the collagenous framework of the anterior chamber angle (chamber angle) of albino rabbits, which does not posses a Schlemm's canal, were examined, with or without NaOH maceration, by scanning electron microscopy. The chamber angle is ill defined because the deep ciliary cleft appears parceled by iris pillars. The collagenous framework of the pectinate liga…
  • [Activity and epidemiology in an ophthalmological emergency center]. [Multicenter Study]
    J Fr Ophtalmol 2002; 25(7):701-11Girard B, Bourcier F, … Laroche L
  • CONCLUSIONS: There is a real need for ophthalmic emergency services in general hospitals. Benign pathologies not needing diagnosis and adapted treatment were not noted in our study. The cheapest and most efficient way to diagnose these ophthalmic emergencies appeared to be the ophthalmological emergency center with a senior ophthalmologist, according to the regional health organization.
