  • The long head of the biceps brachii tendon (LHBT) is a common source of pain in the shoulder. Biceps tendon pathology is often associated with rotator cuff (RC) pathology. The spectrum of LHBT injuries includes primary and secondary tendinitis, chronic tendinopathy, superior labrum anterior and posterior (SLAP) lesions, instability, and partial or complete ruptures.[1][2] Anatomy The LHBT origi…
  • Effect of deep transverse friction massage vs stretching on football players' performance. [Journal Article]
    World J Orthop. 2020 Jan 18; 11(1):47-56.Fakhro MA, Chahine H, … Hijazi KWJ
  • CONCLUSIONS: Static stretching is showing to be superior to the other techniques used, regarding gaining long-term extensibility and short-term maximal muscle strength. In addition, DTFM showed improvements but did not outweigh the effects on footballers' performance when comparing it to static and dynamic techniques. Finally, no difference between the interventions is recorded regarding the rate of muscle injuries incidence.
  • An Experimental Study of the Frictional Properties of Steel Sheets Using the Drawbead Simulator Test. [Journal Article]
    Materials (Basel). 2019 Dec 04; 12(24).Trzepiecinski T, Kubit A, … Fejkiel RM
  • This article presents the results of an experimental investigation of the frictional resistance arising in a drawbead during sheet metal forming. The frictional characterization of DC04 deep drawing quality steels commonly used in the automotive industry is carried out using a friction simulator. The effects of some parameters of the friction process on the value of the coefficient of friction ha…
  • Cyriax Friction Massage-Suggestions for Improvements. [Journal Article]
    Medicina (Kaunas). 2019 May 21; 55(5).Pitsillides A, Stasinopoulos DM
  • Background and objectives: Cyriax friction massage is a widely known and used technique in the field of chronic pain management. Despite its frequent use in daily clinical practice, the technique lacks evidence to support its therapeutic value. While this might be due to various factors, the authors of this paper suggest that the technique might need to be improved and/or modernized according to …
