  • Perspectives on electrical neural recording: a revisit to the fundamental concepts. [Journal Article]
    J Neural Eng 2020Guo L
  • CONCLUSIONS: This paper develops in-depth insights to offer a clear image on the recording mechanism, nature of the signal, and interplays between key interface parameters. This work will make a foundational contribution to the field by providing such an in-depth understanding on this topic to clear the widespread ambiguities and confusions and inform rational neural electrode designs and proper interpretations of neural recordings.
  • Impact of UV radiation on DOM transformation on molecular level using FT-ICR-MS and PARAFAC. [Journal Article]
    Spectrochim Acta A Mol Biomol Spectrosc 2020; 230:118027Miranda ML, Osterholz H, … Zielinski O
  • Dissolved organic matter (DOM) is an omnipresent constituent of natural water bodies. Reuse and transformation of DOM compounds in the water column is driven by physicochemical and biological processes leading to the production of refractory DOM. Typically, breakdown of DOM chemical compounds into smaller or more condensed fragments is triggered by ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Here, we present a s…
  • Plane Wave Imaging Techniques for Immersion Testing of Components with Non-Planar Surfaces. [Journal Article]
IEEE Trans Ultrason Ferroelectr Freq Control 2020Rachev RK, Wilcox PD, … McAughey KL
  • Plane Wave Imaging (PWI) is an ultrasonic array imaging technique used in non-destructive testing, that has been shown to yield high resolution with few transmissions. Only a few published examples are available of PWI of components with non-planar surfaces in immersion. In these cases, inspections were performed by adapting the transmission delays in order to produce a plane wave inside the comp…
  • Expeditious Synthesis of 2-Amino-4H-chromenes and 2-Amino-4H-pyran-3- carboxylates Promoted by Sodium Malonate. [Journal Article]
    Curr Org Synth 2019; 16(5):793-800Tazari M, Kiyani H
  • CONCLUSIONS: This study describes an efficient, environmentally benign, and clean one-pot, three-component synthesis of 2-amino-4H-chromenes and 2-amino-4H-pyran-3-carboxylates in the presence of sodium malonate as the commercially available catalyst in an aqueous medium at 70°C. High yields, mild reaction conditions, relatively shorter reaction times, use of simple reagents, and no requirement of the ultrasound, microwave, and ball milling techniques are the salient features and benefits of the present method. In addition, the present process is smooth and green.
