  • Hemodialysis and erythrocyte epoxy fatty acids. [Journal Article]
    Physiol Rep. 2020 Oct; 8(20):e14601.Gollasch B, Wu G, … Luft FC
  • Fatty acid products derived from cytochromes P450 (CYP) monooxygenase and lipoxygenase (LOX)/CYP ω/(ω-1)-hydroxylase pathways are a superclass of lipid mediators with potent bioactivities. Whether or not the chronic kidney disease (CKD) and hemodialysis treatments performed on end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients affect RBC epoxy fatty acids profiles remains unknown. Measuring the products sol…
  • Quercetin inhibits virulence properties of Porphyromas gingivalis in periodontal disease. [Journal Article]
    Sci Rep. 2020 Oct 27; 10(1):18313.He Z, Zhang X, … Zhou W
  • Porphyromonas gingivalis is a causative agent in the onset and progression of periodontal disease. This study aims to investigate the effects of quercetin, a natural plant product, on P. gingivalis virulence properties including gingipain, haemagglutinin and biofilm formation. Antimicrobial effects and morphological changes of quercetin on P. gingivalis were detected. The effects of quercetin on …
  • Gut mucosa in the rats exposed temporary mechanical obstruction fed with probiotic. [Journal Article]
    Ulus Travma Acil Cerrahi Derg. 2020 Oct; 26(6):833-842.Edizsoy A, Yılmaz E, … Meteoğlu İ
  • CONCLUSIONS: The findings suggest that the high rate of mucosal edemas in the groups that are fed with probiotics can be seen as damage, but we think that probiotics are consonant with the strength of the mucosal barrier. Thus, in the groups fed with probiotics, it is possible that bacterial translocation is seen less, and some antioxidative enzymes are found less. Further studies are needed to investigate the benefits of probiotics in patients operated for obstruction.
  • [Clinical study of movable external fixation for elbow tuberculosis]. [Journal Article]
    Zhongguo Gu Shang. 2020 Oct 25; 33(10):912-5.Cao TY, Zu G, … Borens O
  • CONCLUSIONS: For elbow tuberculosis, movable external fixation and fusion fixation have equal effect in operative time, amount of bleeding and control of tuberculosis infection indicator. Movable external fixation need earlier functional exercise, not conducive to pain relief at early stage, which may be better than fusion fixation, it is worth clinical promoting.
  • Clinical Relevance of Serum Prolactin Levels to Inflammatory Reaction in Male Patients. [Journal Article]
    Acta Med Okayama. 2020 Oct; 74(5):381-389.Yamamoto K, Hanayama Y, … Otsuka F
  • To clarify the relevance of prolactin (PRL) to clinical parameters in patients who visited our general medicine department, medical records of 353 patients in whom serum PRL levels were measured during the period from 2016 to 2018 were retrospectively reviewed. Data for 140 patients (M/F: 42/98) were analyzed after excluding patients lacking detailed records and patients taking dopaminergic agent…
  • Effects of commonly used food additives on haematological parameters of Wistar rats. [Journal Article]
Heliyon. 2020 Oct; 6(10):e05221.Femi-Oloye OP, Owoloye A, … Akinwumi FO
  • This study was done to investigate the effects of common food additives such as sodium benzoate (SB) and ascorbic acid (AA) on haematological parameters of male Wistar rats. Forty-eight (48) male albino rats with an average weight of 105 g were grouped into twelve (n = 4) of Basal Control and other 11 groups orally administered 1 mg of SB, 10 mg of SB, 10 mg of AA, 0.2 mg of AA + 0.5 mg of SB, 0.…
  • TFII-I/Gtf2i and Erythro-Megakaryopoiesis. [Journal Article]
    Front Physiol. 2020; 11:590180.Gurumurthy A, Wu Q, … Bungert J
  • TFII-I is a ubiquitously expressed transcription factor that positively or negatively regulates gene expression. TFII-I has been implicated in neuronal and immunologic diseases as well as in thymic epithelial cancer. Williams-Beuren Syndrome (WBS) is caused by a large hemizygous deletion on chromosome 7q11.23 which encompasses 26-28 genes, including GTF2I, the human gene encoding TFII-I. A subset…
  • Erythroleukemia treated effects of rat plasma profile and erythrocyte membranes. [Journal Article]
    Saudi J Biol Sci. 2020 Nov; 27(11):2948-2954.Yu L, Maddu N
  • Erythroleukemia disease is caused by over production of malignant blood and immature large number of blood cells enters into peripheral compartment. Biophysical and biochemical changes in plasma and erythrocyte membrane in erythroleukemia treated rats were identified. Our study, leukemia is experimentally exposed in rats were injecting erythroleukemia cells (FLC) (H-2d) intravenously in adult rat…
