  • Distribution of Volatile Compounds in Different Fruit Structures in Four Tomato Cultivars. [Journal Article]
    Molecules 2019; 24(14)Li J, Di T, Bai J
  • Distribution of volatile compounds in different fruit structures were analyzed in four tomato cultivars by headspace-solid-phase microextraction (SPME)-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). A total of 36 volatile compounds were identified in fruit samples, which were primarily aldehydes, hydrocarbons, alcohols, ketones, furans, esters, nitrogen compounds, and sulfur and nitrogen-containin…
  • "Beige" Cross Talk Between the Immune System and Metabolism. [Journal Article]
    Front Endocrinol (Lausanne) 2019; 10:369Banfai K, Ernszt D, … Kvell K
  • With thymic senescence the epithelial network shrinks to be replaced by adipose tissue. Transcription factor TBX-1 controls thymus organogenesis, however, the same TBX-1 has also been reported to orchestrate beige adipose tissue development. Given these different roles of TBX-1, we have assessed if thymic TBX-1 expression persists and demonstrates this dualism during adulthood. We have also check…
  • A rare nonsyndromic case of adenomatoid odontogenic tumor associated with multiple impacted supernumerary teeth. [Case Reports]
    Natl J Maxillofac Surg 2019 Jan-Jun; 10(1):114-117Mohanty R, Singh V, … Behera S
  • Adenomatoid odontogenic tumour (AOT) is a rare benign odontogenic tumour characterized by a progressively slow growing pattern and symptomless behavior. The differential diagnosis between AOT and other odontogenic tumours, such as ameloblastoma, should be well conducted in order to avoid extensive ablative surgery. The present case report is of a 27 year old female who reported with a chief compl…
  • NMR-Based Tissular and Developmental Metabolomics of Tomato Fruit. [Journal Article]
    Metabolites 2019; 9(5)Lemaire-Chamley M, Mounet F, … Moing A
  • Fruit is a complex organ containing seeds and several interconnected tissues with dedicated roles. However, most biochemical or molecular studies about fleshy fruit development concern the entire fruit, the fruit without seeds, or pericarp only. We studied tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) fruit at four stages of development (12, 20, 35, and 45 days post-anthesis). We separated the seeds and the othe…
  • Giant multilocular prostatic cystadenoma. [Case Reports]
    World J Surg Oncol 2019; 17(1):42Nakamura Y, Shida D, … Kanemitsu Y
  • CONCLUSIONS: We present our experiences with one of the largest giant multilocular prostatic cystadenomas. When a retroperitoneal huge lesion with locular cavities fills the pelvis in a male patient, the possibility of giant multilocular prostatic cystadenoma should be considered before planning for retroperitoneal tumor treatment.
  • Synchrotron X-ray imaging of a dichasium cupule of Castanopsis from Eocene Baltic amber. [Journal Article]
Am J Bot 2018; 105(12):2025-2036Sadowski EM, Hammel JU, Denk T
  • CONCLUSIONS: The partial female inflorescence reported here provides an important addition to acorns of Castanopsis described from middle Eocene strata of Europe. Furthermore, the intercontinental distribution of Castanopsis in the Eocene is confirmed. The amber fossil also broadens the picture of the Baltic amber source area, indicating oligotrophic, sandy, bog-like habitats. Finally, this study underscores the great benefit of SRμCT as a powerful tool to investigate plant inclusions from amber in a nondestructive way.
