  • Preparing for EQUIP by Measuring Mammography Image Quality. [Journal Article]
  • RTRadiol Technol 2019; 90(5):459-470
  • Marshall W, Lillé S
  • CONCLUSIONS: Identifying specific technologist actions that positively or negatively affect the quality of mammography examinations and then providing this information to the technologist with a suggested plan of corrective action can improve mammography service. This clinical validation study for mammography quality improvement demonstrated that technologist performance affecting image quality can be measured when examination and threshold variables are controlled.
  • Is Ductography Still Warranted in the 21st century? [Journal Article]
  • BJBreast J 2019 May 13
  • Baydoun S, Gonzalez P, … Dogan B
  • CONCLUSIONS: The combination of mammography, ultrasound and ductography is highly accurate for identifying the etiology of pathologic nipple discharge. DCE-MRI can be used as an alternate to ductography if necessary.
  • Retrospective statistical analysis on the diagnostic value of ductography based on lesion pathology in patients presenting with nipple discharge. [Journal Article]

  • CONCLUSIONS: In the absence of standard diagnostic algorithm for patients presenting with nipple discharge, the clinician has numerous options to choose a diagnostic approach that will yield the most accurate information with the least disruption to the patient. Our results indicate the value of ductography compared to value of noninvasive imaging modalities when cancer is suspected and when high risk lesion is suspected. While we show the sensitivity of ductography is similar to noninvasive imaging modalities in the setting of cancer, the sensitivity of ductography is statistically valuable for diagnosing high-risk lesions. Our hope is that this study will emphasize more research and more understanding in clinical utility and management of high-risk lesions, leading to patient-focused algorithm for diagnosing the etiology of abnormal nipple discharge.
  • Female-to-Male Transgender Chest Contouring: A Systematic Review of Outcomes and Knowledge Gaps. [Journal Article]
  • APAnn Plast Surg 2019 May 10
  • Cohen WA, Shah NR, … Keith JD
  • CONCLUSIONS: Female-to-male transgender patients often undergo chest contouring as their initial gender affirmation surgery. As the surgical treatment of gender dysphoria continues to grow, it is imperative for plastic surgeons to understand the surgical options and associated outcomes for transmasculine top surgery. Future research is needed to improve patient selection, surgical decision making, and patient-reported outcomes for different chest contouring techniques. In addition, there is a significant knowledge gap for the ideal nipple-areolar complex shape, size, and location.
