- Symptomatic Mandibular Fibrous Dysplasia With Concurrent Triple X- and Premutation Stage Fragile-X-Syndrome: Case Report With Short Literature Survey. [Journal Article]Anticancer Res 2019; 39(12):6769-6780AR
- CONCLUSIONS: Although the data in the literature do not give reason to suppose an accumulation of neoplasms in TXS, a numb chin syndrome should be a reason for detailed diagnostics. Careful diagnosis allows for customized therapy. This is the first report on the coincidence of TXS, fragile X syndrome, and fibrous dysplasia in a single individual.

- A case report: Numb Chin Syndrome due to thalamic infarction: a rare case. [Journal Article]BMC Neurol 2019; 19(1):303BN
- CONCLUSIONS: In this case report we introduce a patient who clinically shows an NCS. Various diseases may be responsible for NCS, including malignancies or even central neurological disorders such as multiple sclerosis. A lacunar thalamic ischemia as a cause of NCS is very rare and to our knowledge described in the literature only in the contex of a COS in three cases. We wish to remind the reader, through this case, of the purely descriptive and syndromal character of the NCS and the importance for detecting underlying diseases. Furthermore we give a brief overview of the NCS and causative disorders.

- Metastatic Prostate Adenocarcinoma of the Mandible Diagnosed With Oral Manifestations. [Journal Article]J Craniofac Surg 2019JC
- Metastasis from the prostate gland to the mandible is rarely encountered and commonly present with non-specific features like unexplained pain, swelling, and numb chin syndrome. - [Cavernous sinus syndrome as the initial symptom of Burkitt's lymphoma: a case report and literature review]. [Case Reports]Rev Neurol 2019; 69(6):249-254RN
- CONCLUSIONS: Burkitt's lymphoma is a high-grade lymphoproliferative syndrome. Its form associated with immunodeficiency is an important cause of morbidity and mortality in this subgroup of patients. In the cases analysed in the literature, the age of presentation varied and the form of onset was a progressive painful ophthalmoplegia or numb chin syndrome. Exclusive involvement of the cavernous sinus was infrequent, but in that case it entailed a poor prognosis. It is important to rule out a primary extracranial origin and not to confuse it with an idiopathic Tolosa-Hunt syndrome that would delay the beginning of antitumour treatment.

- Multiple myeloma with multiple neurological presentations. [Journal Article]Pract Neurol 2019; 19(6):511-517PN
- Multiple myeloma is a haematological malignancy with clonal plasma cell proliferation and production of monoclonal immunoglobulins. We describe a 40-year-old woman who presented with lower cranial neur…

- Two cases of numb chin syndrome diagnosed as malignant disease. [Case Reports]

- Numb chin syndrome as a presenting symptom of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma with secondary myelofibrosis. [Case Reports]BMJ Case Rep 2018; 2018BC
- Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common non-Hodgkin's lymphoma that classically presents with rapidly enlarging lymph nodes. We present a 59-year-old man with unusual clinical presentation of numb chin syndrome (NCS) as the first symptom of disease. On evaluation, he was found to have diffuse extranodal skeletal involvement in the form of lytic-sclerotic lesions and minimal lymph…

- Numb chin syndrome: A reflection of malignancy or a harbinger of MRONJ? A multicenter experience. [Journal Article]J Stomatol Oral Maxillofac Surg 2018; 119(5):389-394JS
- CONCLUSIONS: NCS can be the first symptom of malignancy, especially in patients with a previous history of cancer, but also a prodromal sign of MRONJ. It should be recognized in order to require deeper examinations for early diagnosis of the disease.
