  • Pulsed Dose Oxygen Delivery During Mechanical Ventilation: Impact on Oxygenation. [Journal Article]
    Mil Med 2019; 184(5-6):e312-e318Blakeman T, Rodriquez D, … Branson R
  • CONCLUSIONS: The ventilator/concentrator system was able to manage oxygenation of severely injured lungs in a porcine model by injecting oxygen boluses at the front end of the ventilator breath, and appropriate use of PEEP to maximize oxygen delivery at the alveolar level. This proof of concept ventilator system may prove to be of use in situations where high-pressure oxygen is unavailable but electricity is accessible.
  • [Characteristics of Volatile Organic Compounds Emitted from Biomass-pellets-fired Boilers]. [Journal Article]
Huan Jing Ke Xue 2017; 38(6):2238-2245Wu CD, Zhang CL, … Yang LH
  • A pre-concentrator-GC-MS/FID was used to investigate the characteristics of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) based on the flue gases emitted from five biomass-pellets-fired boilers in this study. And the concentrations of particle matter, nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulfur dioxides (SO2) and mercury and its compounds were also measured. Results demonstrated that the concentrations of SO2 and mercury …
  • Oxygen Therapy in COPD. [Review]
    Respir Care 2018; 63(6):734-748Branson RD
  • Long-term oxygen therapy (LTOT) at home has been demonstrated to improve survival in patients with COPD and severe resting hypoxemia. Support for LTOT is based on 2 landmark trials published nearly 4 decades ago. These results form the basis for reimbursement and prescription of LTOT to this day. Recent work has demonstrated no outcome benefit of LTOT in stable COPD patients with moderate desatur…
