  • Autologous Blood Patch for Persistent Ascites Leak from Non-Closing Paracentesis Tracts. [Journal Article]
Med Sci (Basel) 2019; 7(9)Khan N, Dushay KM
  • Ascites, the fluid accumulation in the peritoneal cavity, is most commonly seen in patients with end-stage liver disease (ESLD). Evaluating ascites or providing symptomatic relief for patients is accomplished by performing a paracentesis. Ascites leak from a paracentesis site can be a complication of the procedure and is associated with increased morbidity. Currently, the best options for these p…
  • Relation between Length of Exposure to Epidural Analgesia during Labour and Birth Mode. [Journal Article]
    Int J Environ Res Public Health 2019; 16(16)Garcia-Lausin L, Perez-Botella M, … Escuriet R
  • CONCLUSIONS: The length of exposure to epidural analgesia during labour is associated with non-spontaneous births in our study. It highlights the need for practice change through the development of clinical guidelines, training programs for professionals and the continuity of midwifery care in order to support women to cope with labour pain using less invasive forms of analgesia. Women also need to be provided with evidence-based information.
  • A geostatistical approach for multi-source data fusion to predict water table depth. [Journal Article]
Sci Total Environ 2019; 696:133763Manzione RL, Castrignanò A
  • Accurate water table depth mapping is important for water management and activity planning. The joint use of exhausted geospatial raster data with sparse field measurements could improve predictions. The aim of this work was to fuse different support data, collected with remote sensors, with point soil field observations to improve water table depth prediction. A method for multi-source data fusi…
  • A study on the paraspinal muscle surface electromyography in acute nonspecific lower back pain. [Journal Article]
    Medicine (Baltimore) 2019; 98(34):e16904Qiao J, Zhang SL, … Feng D
  • Aim of this study was to determine if surface electromyography (sEMG) could provide objective data in monitoring the alteration of signal amplitude of myoelectric activity of the paraspinal muscles in the patients with acute nonspecific lower back pain (ANLBP), and to explore the correlation between sEMG data and symptom relief in the ANLBP patients before and after massage therapy.Forty-five ANL…
