  • Robotic right hemicolectomy and partial nephrectomy for synchronous malignancies: a video vignette. [Journal Article]
Colorectal Dis. 2020 May 29 [Online ahead of print]Espín-Basany E, Pellino G, Lorente García D
  • Robotic right hemicolectomy has been associated with several advantages compared with laparoscopic colectomy, including lower anastomotic complications, increased lymph node harvest, reduced length of stay, and reduced conversion to open surgery rates. Robotic surgery eases suturing and enables reinforcement of the stapled anastomosis facilitating intracorporeal anastomoses. The latter have been …
  • A sequentially metastatic gastric and jejunal cancer originating from colon cancer: A case report. [Case Reports]
Int J Surg Case Rep. 2020 May 19; 71:172-175.Lee WY, Lee HK
  • CONCLUSIONS: The exact mechanism of intraluminal metastasis of gastrointestinal tract cancer is not known. Immunohistochemical staining might prove useful in sequentially metastatic cases when a differential diagnosis must be assessed on consecutive biopsies.Although intraluminal metastasis of gastrointestinal tract cancer is very rare, researchers should be aware of this uncommon intraluminal metastasis.
  • Encorafenib, Binimetinib, and Cetuximab in BRAF V600E-Mutated Colorectal Cancer. [Review]
    Transl Oncol. 2020 May 26; 13(9):100795.Roviello G, D'Angelo A, … Lavacchi D
  • BRAFV600-mutated colorectal cancer (CRC) accounts for 8% to 12% of all CRC diagnoses. These tumors are often associated with specific patient features, including right-sided primary tumor location, peritoneal and non-regional lymph node involvement, and poor prognosis. In approximately 30% of cases, a simultaneous mismatch repair deficient (dMMR)/microsatellite instability-high (MSI-H) phenotype …
  • Regularized least squares locality preserving projections with applications to image recognition. [Journal Article]
    Neural Netw. 2020 May 21; 128:322-330.Wei W, Dai H, Liang W
  • Locality preserving projection (LPP), as a well-known technique for dimensionality reduction, is designed to preserve the local structure of the original samples which usually lie on a low-dimensional manifold in the real world. However, it suffers from the undersampled or small-sample-size problem, when the dimension of the features is larger than the number of samples which causes the correspon…
  • SARS-CoV-2 RNA in wastewater anticipated COVID-19 occurrence in a low prevalence area. [Journal Article]
    Water Res. 2020 May 16; 181:115942.Randazzo W, Truchado P, … Sánchez G
  • Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has caused more than 200,000 reported COVID-19 cases in Spain resulting in more than 20,800 deaths as of April 21, 2020. Faecal shedding of SARS-CoV-2 RNA from COVID-19 patients has extensively been reported. Therefore, we investigated the occurrence of SARS-CoV-2 RNA in six wastewater treatments plants (WWTPs) serving the major municip…
  • Affective evaluation of others' altruistic decisions under risk and ambiguity. [Journal Article]
    Neuroimage. 2020 May 26 [Online ahead of print]Xiong W, Gao X, … Zhou X
  • Gratitude arises when one is the target of an altruistic decision, particularly when this decision incurs cost to the agent. Here we examined how individuals evaluate others' altruistic decisions under risky (uncertainty with known probabilities) and ambiguous (uncertainty with unknown probabilities) costs and respond with gratitude and reciprocity. Participants played an interactive game in an f…
  • [Chest deformity as a cause of tracheobronchial compression. A pediatric case]. [Journal Article]
Arch Argent Pediatr. 2020 Jun; 118(3):e342-e347.Caudevilla Lafuente P, Martín de Vicente C, … García Íñiguez JP
  • the vertebral bodies, causing respiratory symptoms and altered pulmonary function. Straight back syndrome is a decreased in the anteroposterior diameter of the thorax. We present a 13-year-old patient with idiopathic scoliosis who Deformidad torácica como causa de compresión traqueobronquial. A propósito de un caso clínico pediátrico Chest deformity as a cause of tracheobronchial compression. A p…
  • [Ileocolonic intussusception in an adolescent patient with cystic fibrosis]. [Journal Article]
    Arch Argent Pediatr. 2020 Jun; 118(3):e338-e341.Bustamante AE, Rodríguez-Garza CY, … Garza-González C
  • Intestinal intussusception occurs when a proximal segment of the intestine telescopes into the lumen of an adjacent distal segment, causing intestinal obstruction. It is a common cause of acute abdomen in the first two years of life, but rare in older children. A 16-year-old male with a diagnosis of cystic fibrosis presented with symptoms compatible with distal intestinal occlusion syndrome. He c…
  • Extraforaminal Cervical Selective Nerve Root Block, Description of a Posterolateral Approach with Cone-beam Based CT Guidance. [Case Reports]
    Pain Pract. 2020 May 29 [Online ahead of print]Reddy S, Wu J
  • CONCLUSIONS: We propose the PL-EF approach as the safest protocol for C-SNRBs. When compared with fluoroscopy or CT, CBCT/fluoroscopy is an advanced imaging system that provides superior anatomic neurovascular detail, while offering precise needle control, contrast media monitoring, and easy operation in an office setting. These advanced features support it as the ideal guidance in maximizing both the safety and efficiency of the PL-EF C-SNRB approach. However, the claimed advantages cannot be concluded without increasing its accessibility to pain specialists and a prospective study with a large sample size.
  • Chiral Instabilities and the Onset of Chiral Turbulence in QED Plasmas. [Journal Article]
    Phys Rev Lett. 2020 May 15; 124(19):191604.Mace M, Mueller N, … Sharma S
  • We present a first principles study of chiral plasma instabilities and the onset of chiral turbulence in QED plasmas with strong gauge matter interaction (e^{2}N_{f}=64), far from equilibrium. By performing classical-statistical lattice simulations of the microscopic theory, we show that the generation of strong helical magnetic fields from a helicity imbalance in the fermion sector proceeds via …
  • Doing Spin Physics with Unpolarized Particles. [Journal Article]
    Phys Rev Lett. 2020 May 15; 124(19):192001.Ivanov IP, Korchagin N, … Zhang P
  • Twisted, or vortex, particles refer to freely propagating non-plane-wave states with helicoidal wave fronts. In this state, the particle possesses a nonzero orbital angular momentum with respect to its average propagation direction. Twisted photons and electrons have been experimentally demonstrated, and creation of other particles in twisted states can be anticipated. If brought in collisions, t…
