  • Genetic defense analysis of tomatoes in response to early blight disease, Alternaria alternata. [Journal Article]
    Plant Physiol Biochem 2019; 142:500-509Moghaddam GA, Rezayatmand Z, … Khozaei M
  • Early blight disease of tomato is one of the most devastating biotic stresses worldwide, and in Iran, Alternaria alternata is one of the most predominant species causing the disease. In the current study, a diverse collection of 35 tomato genotypes and implication of 5 SlWRKYs and 7 PR genes as well as enzymatic activity were evaluated on resistant and susceptible cultivars through real-time poly…
  • Differences in perceptual masking between humans and rats. [Journal Article]
Brain Behav 2019; :e01368Dell KL, Arabzadeh E, Price NSC
  • CONCLUSIONS: While perceptual masking occurs in rats, it may be difficult to observe consistently in individual animals because the complexity of the requisite task pushes the limits of their behavioral capabilities. We suggest methods to ensure that masking, and similarly subtle effects, can be reliably characterized in future experiments.
  • The future of vaccine development. [Journal Article]
    Vaccine 2019Koff WC, Schenkelberg T
  • Vaccines are one of the most successful public health interventions in our history resulting in eradication of small pox, near eradication of polio and major reductions in case number and global morbidity and mortality for numerous diseases (Centers for Disease C, 1999) [1]. However, vaccine development has been less successful against complex infectious diseases, where pathogen variability and/o…
