  • Use of a Novel, Portable, LED-Based Capillary Refill Time Simulator within a Disaster Triage Context. [Journal Article]
    Prehosp Disaster Med 2017; 32(4):451-456Chang TP, Santillanes G, … Bir C
  • CONCLUSIONS: A simple, LED-based CRT simulator was well received in both settings. Prior to widespread use for disaster triage training, validation on participants' ability to accurately triage disaster victims using CRT simulators and video-based CRT simulations should be performed. • The use of a "hybrid" trainer in an established laparoscopic skills program. [Journal Article]
JSLS 2006 Jan-Mar; 10(1):4-10Rosser JC, Colsant BJ, … Young SM
  • CONCLUSIONS: The EP utilized during the Top Gun Course was introduced without modification of the core curriculum and experienced no device failures. This hybrid trainer offers a cost-effective inanimate simulator that brings quality performance monitoring to traditional inanimate trainers. It appears that the EP influenced student performance by alerting them to errors made, thus causing an increased awareness of and focus on precision and accuracy. This suggests that the EP could have internal guidance capabilities. However, validation studies must be done in the future.
