  • Laquinimod Supports Remyelination in Non-Supportive Environments. [Journal Article]
    Cells 2019; 8(11)Nyamoya S, Steinle J, … Kipp M
  • Inflammatory demyelination, which is a characteristic of multiple sclerosis lesions, leads to acute functional deficits and, in the long term, to progressive axonal degeneration. While remyelination is believed to protect axons, the endogenous-regenerative processes are often incomplete or even completely fail in many multiple sclerosis patients. Although it is currently unknown why remyelination…
  • First-trimester pre-eclampsia biomarker profiles in Asian population: a multicenter cohort study. [Journal Article]
Ultrasound Obstet Gynecol 2019Chaemsaithong P, Sahota D, … Poon LC
  • CONCLUSIONS: Owing to the anthropometric differences in Asian women, significant changes in the biomarkers for PE screening were noted, particularly MAP and PlGF, requiring Asian-specific formulae for the calculation of MoMs to be developed if reliable and consistent patient-specific risks for preterm PE are to be reported. We have also demonstrated the importance and need for regular quality assessment of biomarker values. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
  • A survival model of in-vivo partial liver lobe decellularization towards in-vivo liver engineering. [Journal Article]
    Tissue Eng Part C Methods 2019Wang A, Kuriata O, … Dahmen U
  • In-vivo liver decellularization has become a promising strategy to study in-vivo liver engineering. However, long term survival after in-vivo liver decellularization has not yet been achieved due to anatomical and technical challenges. This study aimed to establish a survival model of in-vivo partial liver lobe perfusion-decellularization in rat. We compared three decellularization protocols (1%T…
  • Effects of climate and geography on spatial patterns of genetic structure in tropical skinks. [Journal Article]
    Mol Phylogenet Evol 2019; 143:106661Rivera D, Prates I, … Carnaval AC
  • Knowledge of how contemporary and historical factors drive patterns of genetic structure across geographic space can shed light on the processes underlying diversification. This approach is especially fruitful in studies of widespread species or species clades that occur across multiple environmental conditions and biomes. In the Neotropics, specifically, molecular data from widespread vertebrate…
  • Barium Chemosensors with Dry-Phase Fluorescence for Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay. [Journal Article]
    Sci Rep 2019; 9(1):15097Thapa P, Arnquist I, … Woodruff K
  • The nature of the neutrino is one of the major open questions in experimental nuclear and particle physics. The most sensitive known method to establish the Majorana nature of the neutrino is detection of the ultra-rare process of neutrinoless double beta decay. However, identification of one or a handful of decay events within a large mass of candidate isotope, without obfuscation by backgrounds…
