  • [Pathogenic and diagnostic roles of microRNAs in adrenocortical tumours]. [Review]
    Orv Hetil 2018; 159(7):245-251Nagy Z, Decmann Á, … Igaz P
  • Adrenocortical tumours are quite prevalent. Most of these tumours are benign, hormonally inactive adrenocortical adenomas. Rare hormone-secreting adrenocortical adenomas are associated with severe clinical consequences, whereas the prognosis of the rare adrenocortical cancer is rather poor in its advanced stages. The pathogenesis of these tumours is only partly elucidated. MicroRNAs are small, no…
  • Organ specific gene expression in the regenerating tail of Macrostomum lignano. [Journal Article]
    Dev Biol 2018; 433(2):448-460Lengerer B, Wunderer J, … Ladurner P
  • Temporal and spatial characterization of gene expression is a prerequisite for the understanding of cell-, tissue-, and organ-differentiation. In a multifaceted approach to investigate gene expression in the tail plate of the free-living marine flatworm Macrostomum lignano, we performed a posterior-region-specific in situ hybridization screen, RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) of regenerating animals, and…
  • Usefulness of GATA-3 as a marker of seminal epithelium in prostate biopsies. [Journal Article]
    Actas Urol Esp 2017; 41(9):577-583Ortiz-Rey JA, Chantada-de la Fuente D, … San Miguel-Fraile MP
  • CONCLUSIONS: The intense immunohistochemical expression of GATA-3 in the seminal vesicle epithelium can help identify the epithelium in prostate biopsies. This marker is also positive in the basal cells of healthy prostates and, with less intensity, in the secretory cells. Positivity, weak or moderate, is observed on rare occasions in prostatic adenocarcinomas.
  • [Gallbladder volvulus: Diagnostic and surgical challenges]. [Case Reports]
    Cir Cir 2017; 85 Suppl 1:89-92Abadía-Barnó P, Coll-Sastre M, … Cabañas-Montero J
  • CONCLUSIONS: Gallbladder volvulus, or gallbladder torsion, is a rare condition and should be considered when clinical and imaging findings of complicated cholecystitis are present. The performance of urgent laparoscopic surgery would be first option to avoid perforation, peritonitis and haemodynamic instability.
  • [Extracellular vesicles and their role in hematological malignancies]. [Review]
    Orv Hetil 2016; 157(35):1379-84Rzepiel A, Kutszegi N, … Erdélyi DJ
  • Extracellular vesicles are produced in all organisms. The most intensively investigated categories of extracellular vesicles include apoptotic bodies, microvesicles and exosomes. Among a very wide range of areas, their role has been confirmed in intercellular communication, immune response and angiogenesis (in both physiological and pathological conditions). Their alterations suggest the potentia…
