  • Dolutegravir-Based or Low-Dose Efavirenz-Based Regimen for the Treatment of HIV-1. [Randomized Controlled Trial]
    N Engl J Med 2019; 381(9):816-826NAMSAL ANRS 12313 Study Group, Kouanfack C, … Delaporte E
  • CONCLUSIONS: In HIV-1-infected adults in Cameroon, a dolutegravir-based regimen was noninferior to an EFV400-based reference regimen with regard to viral suppression at week 48. Among participants who had a viral load of at least 100,000 copies per milliliter when antiretroviral therapy was initiated, fewer participants than expected had viral suppression. (Funded by Unitaid and the French National Agency for AIDS Research; NAMSAL ANRS 12313 number, NCT02777229.).

Drugs Today (Barc) 2019; 55(5):297-304Fida M, Rizza SA, Temesgen Z
  • The current standard of care for treating HIV infection is the use of three antiretroviral drugs: a combination of two nucleoside/nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs) and a third agent from either the integrase strand transfer inhibitor (INSTI), boosted protease inhibitor (PI) or non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI) classes. In an effort to minimize the long-term …
  • Attenuating Diabetic Vascular and Neuronal Defects by Targeting P2rx7. [Journal Article]

Data suggest that defects in the neuroglial network precede the clinically recognisable vascular lesions in the retina. Therefore, new treatments that target early-onset neurodegeneration would be expected to have great value in preventing the early stages of diabetic retinopathy. Here, we sh…
