- Low-Dose Buprenorphine Following Ketamine Treatment for Suicidal Ideation in Major Depressive Disorder: A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Trial. [Journal Article]Am J Psychiatry. 2026 May 19; :appiajp20250840. [Online ahead of print]AJ
- CONCLUSIONS: This randomized controlled trial provides the first evidence that a pharmacological intervention, buprenorphine, significantly sustains and enhances the antisuicidal effects of ketamine in MDD. These findings offer a potentially scalable and safe therapeutic option for a population at risk of suicide.

- CONCLUSIONS: This pilot study demonstrated similar effects on depression symptoms between MST and ECT. MST appeared to have resulted in less worsening of autobiographical memory and was better tolerated, suggesting that it may be a safe clinical application to treat bipolar depression. Given the relatively small sample size of this pilot study, these findings should be considered preliminary.
