- CONCLUSIONS: Achieving R0 status through conversion therapy is a universal goal for maximizing OS, regardless of the initial systemic regimen. Lenvatinib may offer a more favorable platform for sequential TACE/HAIC to prolong overall survival compared to atezolizumab/bevacizumab.

- Inpatient Palliative Care and Procedural Intensity in Patients with Hepatopancreatobiliary Cancers at the End of Life. [Journal Article]Ann Surg Oncol. 2026 Jul 14. [Online ahead of print]AS
- CONCLUSIONS: End-of-life inpatient procedures were common in HPB malignancies and persisted despite increased palliative care utilization. Early palliative care involvement was associated with a greater proportion of palliative-type procedures, suggesting an association between earlier palliative care integration and procedural decision-making that may better align with patient quality of life and end-of-life priorities.

- Prognostic Value of Intratumoral Expression of Claudin 18.2 in Resected Pancreatic Cancer. [Journal Article]Ann Surg Oncol. 2026 Jul 14. [Online ahead of print]AS
- CONCLUSIONS: CLDN18.2 is expressed in 23% of primary PDAC tumours, indicating its potential to be used as a therapeutic target in a significant proportion of PDAC patients, and its expression is associated with improved OS in resected PDAC, supporting its role as a prognostic marker.

- Targeted Multidisciplinary Continuous Improvement Process Reduces Time to Breast Cancer Surgery with Immediate Reconstruction. [Journal Article]Ann Surg Oncol. 2026 Jul 14. [Online ahead of print]AS
- CONCLUSIONS: A targeted multidisciplinary QI initiative meaningfully reduced TTT for breast cancer patients undergoing upfront surgery with IBR without delaying non-IBR patients. Operating room (OR) alignment was the pivotal intervention, highlighting the importance of system-level coordination between breast and plastic surgery.

- Postoperative Complications and Long-Term Cardiovascular Risk After Gastrectomy for Gastric Cancer. [Journal Article]Ann Surg Oncol. 2026 Jul 14. [Online ahead of print]AS
- CONCLUSIONS: Postoperative complications after gastrectomy are associated with an increased long-term risk of CVD. These findings support closer cardiovascular surveillance and risk management in patients who experience postoperative complications.

- Extreme Oncoplasty: Avoiding Mastectomy and Expanding the Limits of Breast Conservation-A Comparative Study of 718 Patients. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Extreme oncoplasty followed by whole breast irradiation allows safe breast conservation in selected patients with large, >50 mm, multifocal/multicentric tumors, achieving local and distant recurrence and survival outcomes comparable to those of standard oncoplastic cases. When technically feasible, breast conservation with extreme oncoplastic reconstruction should be considered a valid alternative to mastectomy in appropriately selected patients.
