- CONCLUSIONS: The findings revealed that increased missed nursing care is associated with decreased patient satisfaction. Missed nursing care, and particularly communication-related omissions, were significant predictors of satisfaction, highlighting the need for interventions to reduce care omissions in surgical settings.

Investing in prevention and CNS-led safety initiatives can shift health care systems from reactive management of complications to proactive, sustainable models of patient safety.

- CONCLUSIONS: The EPIC Deterioration Index tool, when used in conjunction with rapid response criteria, facilitates early identification of patient deterioration. In addition, it has great potential to prevent the need for upgrading a patient to the intensive care unit. This offers a promising future in detecting risk and enhancing the quality of care.
