  • Beyond Type 2 Inflammation: An Innate-Myeloid Axis is Linked to CRSwNP Recurrence. [Journal Article]

  • CONCLUSIONS: Both T2 and non-T2 mediators play a role in rapid post-FESS recurrence in CRSwNP. T2 blockade with dupilumab reduces T2-associated mediators but does not suppress a parallel innate/myeloid inflammatory axis. The persistence of this axis during treatment suggests that innate and myeloid mediators may underlie severe CRSwNP and could influence disease recurrence once T2 signaling is no longer inhibited, representing potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets to improve long-term disease control.

  • IL-1 confers IgG-mediated protection against allergic anaphylaxis. [Journal Article]
    J Allergy Clin Immunol. 2026 Jul 29. [Online ahead of print]Engeroff P, Issa M, … Klatzmann DJA
  • CONCLUSIONS: IL-1 promotes IgG-dominant allergen-specific immune responses that protect against allergic anaphylaxis through FcγRIIb. Therapeutic administration of IL-1 may help overcome current limitations of AIT.

  • In the last 15 years, the tobacco industry has marketed electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) as a tool to help adults to quit cigarette smoking, while also promoting their use in children and adolescents. As expected, this led to a marked increase in e-cigarette use (also called vaping) among children and adolescents in the U.S. Although the prevalence of vaping decreased after the 2019 EVALI epi…

  • CONCLUSIONS: In patients with AFRS, dupilumab vs placebo demonstrated significant improvement in radiographic, endoscopic, clinical, quality-of-life outcomes, and need for systemic corticosteroids and/or surgery. Dupilumab was well tolerated. (Funded by Sanofi and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals; LIBERTY AFRS AIMS ClinicalTrials.gov number, NCT04684524.).
