- Alloplastic Total Temporomandibular Joint Replacement in Degenerative Joint Diseases: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis. [Review]J Oral Maxillofac Surg. 2026 Jul 22. [Online ahead of print]JO
- CONCLUSIONS: Alloplastic TJR is associated with statistically significant improvements in TMJ pain, mandibular function, and dietary capacity in subjects with degenerative TMJ disease refractory to conservative therapy. These findings support TJR as a definitive reconstructive option in appropriately selected subjects.

- Geographic Disparities in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Workforce: A Statewide Analysis of Georgia. [Journal Article]J Oral Maxillofac Surg. 2026 Jul 22. [Online ahead of print]JO
- CONCLUSIONS: The OMS workforce in Georgia is highly concentrated in metropolitan areas, leaving most rural counties with limited access to specialty care. These findings highlight statistically significant geographic disparities and the need for targeted workforce strategies to improve access in underserved regions.

- Impact of Preoperative Anemia on Surgical Success in Medication-Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw. [Journal Article]J Oral Maxillofac Surg. 2026 Jul 22. [Online ahead of print]JO
- CONCLUSIONS: Lower preoperative RBC count and hemoglobin level were associated with more severe MRONJ at presentation and shorter time to treatment failure after surgery. Routine hematologic markers may support risk stratification before operative MRONJ management.

- Clinical Feasibility of Autogenous Lateral Sinus Wall Bone Plate for Ridge Augmentation: A Surgical Innovation. [Journal Article]J Oral Maxillofac Surg. 2026 Jul 20. [Online ahead of print]JO
- This technical innovation describes a surgical approach that reuses autogenous bone plates harvested from the lateral maxillary sinus wall during lateral sinus floor elevation for simultaneous ridge augmentation. The technique integrates sinus augmentation and bone harvesting within a single operative field, eliminating the need for a secondary donor site. The harvested bone plate is polished and…

- Comparing the Frankfort Horizontal and Adjusted Natural Head Position as Upper Facial Horizontal Reference Planes Using Computer Aided Surgical Simulation for Orthognathic Surgery. [Journal Article]J Oral Maxillofac Surg. 2026 Jul 13. [Online ahead of print]JO
- CONCLUSIONS: In a consecutive series of subjects planned for orthognathic surgery, the positional differences of the maxillomandibular complex through CASS using aNHP versus FH had mean vertical and anteroposterior discrepancies < 2 mm for ∠aNHP-FH between [-10°, 25°] and maxillary movements between [-4,12] mm.
