J Pediatr Clin Pract. 2026 Oct; 21:200219.Damez M, Welfringer A, … Groupe de Recherche de la Société Française de Dermatologie PédiatriqueJP
  • CONCLUSIONS: Contrary to the previous reports in the literature about pediatric phthiriasis palpebrarum, scalp involvement is a typical finding. Regarding the mode of transmission, no sexual abuse has been identified, but the origins of infantile phthiriasis palpebrarum weren't systematically discerned to assess for possible abuse. Notably, no case was registered after the age of 8 years. Different treatment protocols are used, reflecting a lack of standardization.

  • CONCLUSIONS: Both Black/African American and Hispanic children are disproportionately represented in BPD clinics and have a higher likelihood of acute care use, compared with Non-Hispanic White children. To optimize respiratory health outcomes of all children with BPD, further research is needed to identify factors that drive observed racial and ethnic differences.

  • Association of Birth Weight with Delivery Room Endotracheal Intubation Success in Newborn Infants. [Journal Article]
    J Pediatr. 2026 Jul 07; :115226. [Online ahead of print]Bibl K, Roessler L, … National Emergency Airway Registry for Neonates (NEAR4NEOS) InvestigatorsJPed
  • CONCLUSIONS: Lower birth weight was associated with lower first-attempt intubation success and higher odds of adverse events during delivery room intubation. Awareness that smaller infants are at higher risk for difficult intubation may help optimize provider selection, equipment preparation, and procedural planning in the delivery room.
