  • Synthesis of Sulfated Glycomimetics with Micromolar Affinity for Midkine. [Journal Article]
J Org Chem. 2026 Apr 10; 91(14):5102-5114.Pereira-Jaramillo R, de Paz JL, Nieto PMJO
  • A series of sulfated oligosaccharides (one tetra- and ten disaccharides) have been synthesized to study their interactions with midkine, a heparin-binding growth factor involved in cancer and inflammation. These compounds were prepared as glycosaminoglycan (GAG) mimetics and displayed hydrophobic groups at specific positions to enhance midkine binding. For the synthesis of the tetrasaccharide, a …
  • Dietary palmitic acid inhibits colorectal cancer progression through enhancing bisecting GlcNAc. [Journal Article]
    JCI Insight. 2026 Mar 23; 11(6).Lei L, Tang J, … Guan FJI
  • Glycosylation changes are pivotal in colorectal cancer (CRC) development. The role of bisecting GlcNAc, a specific N-glycosylation type catalyzed by glycosyltransferase MGAT3, in CRC progression remains elusive. Previous studies indicated that dietary interventions can be beneficial for patients with certain congenital disorders of glycosylation. However, the impact of dietary fatty acids, such a…
  • Experience of using modern oral iron formulations for the correction of iron deficiency conditions in women of reproductive age. [Journal Article]
Wiad Lek. 2026; 79(1):61-68.Kondratiuk VK, Nikitina IM, … Dzis NPWL
  • CONCLUSIONS: Conclusions: 1. The results of the study indicate that the FERRO-EURIKA™ food supplement may be an effective oral agent for correcting iron deficiency conditions in women of reproductive age.2. The combination of iron bisglycinate and glucosamine salt of (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolate in the composition of FERRO-EURIKA™ contributes to the normalization of haematologic parameters, even at lower doses of iron compared to standard formulations.3. Women who received the FERRO-EURIKA™ food supplement demonstrated better tolerability and a lower incidence of gastrointestinal adverse effects, leading to higher adherence to therapy and successful completion of the treatment course.
  • Safety Assessment of Glucosamine Ingredients as Used in Cosmetics. [Review]
    Int J Toxicol. 2026 Feb; 45(1_suppl):27S-47S.Ferguson P, Bergfeld WF, … Heldreth BIJ
  • The Expert Panel for Cosmetic Ingredient Safety (Panel) assessed the safety of Acetyl Glucosamine, Glucosamine, Glucosamine HCl, and Glucosamine Sulfate. Two of the ingredients, Acetyl Glucosamine and Glucosamine Sulfate, are reported to function in cosmetics as skin-conditioning agents, Glucosamine HCl is reported to function as a pH adjustor, and the function of Glucosamine in cosmetics is not …
