- Effects of Vitamin D Supplementation on Serum Levels and Gene Expression of IL-10 and IL-35 Among Women with Unexplained Recurrent Spontaneous Abortion. [Journal Article]Recent Adv Inflamm Allergy Drug Discov. 2026 Jun 19. [Online ahead of print]RA
- CONCLUSIONS: Vit D supplementation was linked to changes in IL-35 gene expression in women with uRSA. However, since there were no significant alterations in serum cytokine levels, these findings do not confirm a definitive role for Vit D in enhancing immune tolerance.

- IFN-γ+ NK cells as a potential predictor of pregnancy loss in unexplained recurrent pregnancy loss. [Journal Article]Int J Med Sci. 2026; 23(7):2302-2314.IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Elevated CD3[-]CD56[+]IFN-γ[+] uNK cells during the implantation window were associated with early pregnancy loss (≤12 weeks) in women with uRPL, suggesting a potential biomarker that requires validation in larger studies.

- Peripheral cytokines as candidate biomarkers for recurrent pregnancy loss. [Journal Article]Reprod Fertil. 2026 Apr 01; 7(2).RF
- A current working hypothesis in recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) suggests immune dysregulation, underlain by a pro-inflammatory cytokine shift in TH cells. NK cells, which are primary immune effectors throughout pregnancy, also orchestrate immune activity via cytokine secretion, which appears aberrant in women with RPL. Experimental findings remain contentious, hindering clinical adoption of cytoki…

- Metabolic Reprogramming in Recurrent Spontaneous Abortion: Key Biomarkers Identification and Diagnostic Model Development. [Journal Article]IET Syst Biol. 2026 Jan-Dec; 20(1):e70078.IS
- Recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) involves complex and often unexplained pathogenesis. This study investigated metabolic reprogramming in RSA to identify diagnostic biomarkers. We integrated GEO datasets (GSE26787, GSE165004), identified metabolic reprogramming-related differentially expressed genes, and intersected them with WGCNA modules. Module genes were refined using logistic regression, …

- ObjectiveUnexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion is a multifactorial condition with an unclear etiology. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between liver function biomarkers and unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion and explore interactions with tobacco exposure and body mass index.MethodsA retrospective case-control study was conducted on 2126 pregnant women, including 602 …

- Immunomodulatory Role of Natural Progesterone in Pregnancy: A Review. [Review]J Obstet Gynaecol Res. 2026 Jun; 52(6):e70342.JO
- CONCLUSIONS: Natural progesterone supports pregnancy by preventing miscarriages, preterm labor, and LPD through its direct and indirect immunomodulatory mechanisms. Clinically, it is well-tolerated with no serious or unexpected adverse events. However, gaps remain in fully understanding its effectiveness, emphasizing the need for further research.

- Risk factors for recurrent abortion after induced abortion in Chinese women: a prospective study. [Journal Article]J Matern Fetal Neonatal Med. 2026 Dec; 39(1):2686913.JM
- CONCLUSIONS: Ethnic minorities served as an independent risk factor for repeat abortion among Chinese women. However, due to the small sample size, our findings regarding the role of ethnic minorities should be interpreted cautiously. Additionally, psychological factors were identified as significant factors. In particular, preoperative anxiety (SAS ≥50) was associated with reduced odds of repeat abortion. This suggests that moderate anxiety may improve contraceptive adherence and lower the risk of repeat abortion. Postoperative contraceptive self-efficacy (C-CSE ≥30) protects against repeat abortion in the long term; therefore, enhancing contraceptive confidence is crucial for preventing repeat abortion.

- Longitudinal evaluation of recurrent thyrotoxicosis in a single patient across four pregnancies: a case report and literature review. [Case Reports]Endocrinol Diabetes Metab Case Rep. 2026 Apr 01; 2026(2).ED
- We report the case of a 37-year-old woman who presented with hyperemesis gravidarum at 11 weeks of gestation. Laboratory examination revealed severe thyrotoxicosis (TSH: <0.005 μIU/mL, FT3: 12.95 pg/mL, FT4: 3.93 ng/dL) with negative anti-TSH receptor antibody, while serum human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) was markedly elevated at 198,983 mIU/mL. She was diagnosed with gestational transient thyr…

- Longitudinal profiling of antiphospholipid antibodies reveals pre-conception levels as a key predictor of live birth in women with recurrent pregnancy loss. [Journal Article]Front Immunol. 2026; 17:1765672.FI
- CONCLUSIONS: aPL levels increase significantly after conception in women with RPL and are independently associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes. Our findings suggest that aPL screening should be performed both before pregnancy and in early pregnancy in RPL patients to enable timely intervention and improve pregnancy outcomes. Pre-conception aPL testing may hold greater predictive value than in early pregnancy.

- Role of Reproductive Tract Infections in Spontaneous Abortion: A Review. [Review]J Obstet Gynaecol Res. 2026 Jun; 52(6):e70365.JO
- CONCLUSIONS: During pregnancy, maintaining vaginal microbiota balance, routine screening for infections of the reproductive tract, and timely execution of targeted interventions are critical for spontaneous abortion. Future research should focus on large-scale prospective studies to clarify the precise mechanisms of pathogen transmission and to optimize intervention strategies.

- The correlation between vaginal microbiome dysbiosis and recurrent spontaneous abortion. [Review]J Reprod Immunol. 2026 Jun 01; 176:104918. [Online ahead of print]JR
- In recent years, the role of the vaginal microbiota in pregnancy maintenance has garnered increasing attention. Extensive research indicates that vaginal dysbiosis is closely associated with various adverse pregnancy outcomes, including ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, preterm birth, and premature rupture of membranes. Recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) affects approximately 1-5% of women of chi…

- Recurrent pregnancy loss: unexplained or misunderstood? [Review]Curr Opin Obstet Gynecol. 2026 Aug 01; 38(4):217-222.CO
- CONCLUSIONS: Comprehensive RPL evaluation should include POC genetic testing and assessment of both partners. An individualized, targeted approach improves outcomes while reducing costs, delays, and exposure to ineffective therapies. Paternal factors are increasingly recognized as important and should be included in both evaluation and management strategies when possible.
