  • Accurate sex estimation is of utmost importance in forensic anthropology and bioarchaeology. Nevertheless, traditional methods are frequently influenced by confounding factors and biases specific to certain populations. This study aims to revolutionize sex classification methods for Asian populations through the innovative integration of Orthogonal Partial Least Squares (OPLS) for dimensionality …
  • Integrating gepants into clinical practice for the acute treatment of migraine. [Review]
Headache. 2026 Apr; 66(4):976-989.Lipton RB, Dodick DW, … Goadsby PJH
  • CONCLUSIONS: Key advantages of gepants include their favorable tolerability, efficacy for the acute treatment of both the prodromal/premonitory phase (ubrogepant) and the headache phase of migraine (ubrogepant, rimegepant, zavegepant), lack of cardiovascular contraindications, and lack of association with medication-overuse headache. Disadvantages include limitations due to cost and access and CYP3A4 drug interactions for most gepants. Together, the advantages may help to optimize patient care and lead to better persistence and effectiveness in a real-world setting. Head-to-head studies are needed to clarify the comparative effectiveness of triptans and gepants.

Drugs and Lactation Database (LactMed). National Library of Medicine (US): Bethesda (MD).BOOK
  • There is minimal published experience with naratriptan during breastfeeding. If naratriptan is required by the mother of an older infant, it is not a reason to discontinue breastfeeding, but until more data become available, an alternate drug may be preferred, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant.

  • Around 91% of migraine patients use over-the-counter medicines to treat attacks, often without further treatment or medical consultation. This therapeutic principle is established in most countries, regardless of how the healthcare system is otherwise structured or financed. Using Germany as an example, the basis for an expansion of attack therapy with rizatriptan as an over-the-counter triptan i…

The first specific drugs developed to treat migraine acutely, the serotoni…
