- The combined use of Angelica sinensis and fentanyl injection may cause serotonin syndrome: a case report. [Journal Article]J Med Case Rep. 2026 May 13. [Online ahead of print]JM
- CONCLUSIONS: This case reveals that the combined use of Angelica sinensis and fentanyl injection may cause serotonin syndrome during surgery, which could threaten the patient's life and thus affect the operation. This case report highlights the importance of recognizing serotonin syndrome, identifying its clinical manifestations, and implementing timely clinical management strategies. It also emphasizes the potential risk of adverse reactions associated with traditional Chinese medicine, particularly avoiding combined use before and after anesthesia.

- A Systematic Evaluation of Angelica sinensis Discrimination Based on FT-MIR Spectroscopic Analysis Combined with Machine Learning. [Journal Article]Foods. 2026 May 06; 15(9).F
- Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels (AS) is a medicinal and food plant that has long faced a persistent challenge: its quality and price are often influenced by environmental conditions and geographical origins. To achieve substantial profits, items that are not produced in primary regions, along with counterfeit products, are frequently misbranded as originating from main production areas; this lead…

- Engineered Carbon Dots from a Traditional Herb Pair Orchestrate Concurrent Antioxidant and AP-1-Mediated Inflammation to Attenuate Renal Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury. [Journal Article]Adv Sci (Weinh). 2026 May 12; :e75596. [Online ahead of print]AS
- Renal ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury, a primary cause of acute kidney injury (AKI), is driven by a self-amplifying loop of oxidative burst and immune cell infiltration. In this work, the classical herb pair Astragalus membranaceus (AM) and Angelica sinensis (AS) is employed as a composite precursor to synthesize nitrogen-rich carbon-dot nanozymes (AM-AS@CDs) via a one-step hydrothermal method.…

- Angelica sinensis polysaccharides modulate iron metabolism and macrophage polarization to alleviate rheumatoid arthritis. [Journal Article]Int J Biol Macromol. 2026 May; 364:152182.IJ
- Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by joint inflammation and systemic complications. Recent evidence has indicated that disrupted iron metabolism, notably elevated hepcidin expression and excessive iron accumulation in tissues, contributes to RA progression. In RA, Macrophages, which play a central role in both immune regulation and iron homeostasis, are often…

- Metabolome-driven rhizosphere microbiome assembly determining the health of medicinal herb (Angelica sinensis) against root rot. [Journal Article]Microbiome. 2026 Apr 20. [Online ahead of print]M
- CONCLUSIONS: Our study proposes that A. sinensis recruits steroid-metabolizing Streptomyces species by exuding key lipid compounds (i.e., methyl jasmonate and brassinolide) to combat Fusarium root rot. This study provides novel insights into using functional synbiotics as a promising strategy for manipulating plant-microbiome interactions to promote sustainable agriculture. Video Abstract.

- Herbal adulteration has become a common malpractice, often undertaken to increase the weight or perceived potency of medicinal products or to reduce production costs. Consequently, the development of effective methods for detecting and preventing herbal adulteration is of critical importance. Angelica sinensis root is a well-known medicinal and edible plant with diverse pharmacological activities…
