- Vitamins and oral mucosal diseases: From bench to the bedside. [Review]Clin Dermatol. 2026 Mar-Apr; 44(2):281-293.CD
- Vitamins are essential biocatalysts that have wide-ranging functions in supporting cellular metabolism. Vitamin deficiencies can significantly impact oral health, manifesting in oral mucosal and periodontal conditions. Deficiencies in the vitamin B complex are associated with glossitis, angular cheilitis, and recurrent aphthous stomatitis. Vitamin C deficiency leads to scurvy-related periodontal …

- StatPearls: Angular Chelitis [BOOK]StatPearls. StatPearls Publishing: Treasure Island (FL).BOOK
- Angular cheilitis (AC) is a descriptive diagnosis for an inflammatory skin process of varied etiology occurring at the labial commissure – the angle of the mouth. "Angular," or commissural, refers to a localized lip inflammation (i.e., “cheilitis,” from the Greek chilos or “lips”) that is distinguishable from the more generalized cheilitides that have different causes. The angles of the mouth are…
- Pharmacological Management of Oral and Esophageal Candidiasis: A Clinical Pharmacotherapy Perspective. [Review]
- Candida spp. are common components of normal microbiota in the oral cavity. However, Candida albicans can be a primary cause of superficial infections in the oral cavity and esophagus, especially in immunocompromised individuals. While these infections are rarely life-threatening, they can significantly impair quality of life and, in severe cases, progress to hematogenous dissemination. Oral cand…

- Unusual co-occurrence of cheilitis granulomatosa and plasma cell gingivitis: A case report. [Case Reports]Clin Adv Periodontics. 2025 Oct 30. [Online ahead of print]CA
- CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights the rare co-existence of CG and PCG, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive diagnostic approach to exclude systemic causes. Successful management requires pharmacological treatment, surgical interventions, and dietary modifications. Long-term follow-up is essential to monitor recurrences and maintain clinical stability.

- Prevalence of oral diseases in severe psoriatic patients: A cross-sectional study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Individuals with psoriasis exhibit a higher prevalence of oral abnormalities, particularly fissured tongue, geographic tongue, and periodontitis. Thus, we believe that oral examinations are essential for all psoriasis patients. Routine oral assessments should be conducted irrespective of the onset, type, or location of the psoriasis. In uncertain cases, a biopsy may assist in achieving a precise diagnosis. Early identification and intervention could enhance the quality of life for these patients.
